i believe its already been covered. if i recall correctly, the edm rear disc conversion almost cost twice what the T1R or the fastbrakes kit cost. unless you can get to a european junkyard, id just go with the T1R kit.

i couldnt agree more but the cost to performance aspect doesnt justify it. spend 800 on a kit or spend 2000+ trying to put a kit together when the rear drums are more than sufficient at stopping our bantam weight cars. its more for aesthetics than anything.

 

It's been a month or two since I've plowed through the (mostly useless) sticky thread on the subject . . . was the main reason for the expense the actual cost of parts? Cost after shipping overseas? I can totally see a dealer charging an exorbinant amount for all those parts new shipped over here - but how about a junkyard hookup? I'd love to find something based out of the Phillipines where one could (in theory) get the rear disc parts dirt cheap. I mean, the car's been around for like 7 years in most countries.

And what I can't justify is buying a T1-R or fastbrakes rear disc conversion, and having a rear rotor that's vastly oversized for the application. Not only is it extra weight to pull around and for the suspension to deal with, but I still need to be able to mount up my 14" winter rims. And having rotors larger than the front is rather silly.

I was looking into it for everyone as I own a UK Jazz. The main problem would be the cost of posting various bits over as you need quite a bit of stuff an getting it stripped off a scrapper is a pain. I got lucky as I managed to find a full rear axle with everything bolted on for £80 on ebay!
Sadly I've not got round to fitting it yet after about 8 months!

 

Even the cost of the part is dirt cheap from junk yard. U still have to ship it over. Not like u can ship these by postal service. I wonder how much shipping I'll have to pay to get a full OEM rear disc setup shipped over?
