camber, rain...

well...I just put on the spc camber bolts this weekend, set it to the max. put on a set of new wheels (15 x 7 - 40)

this morning, it was raining outside, got on the high way, man....I couldn't even keep the car straight at 45....the bump steer is horrible, and the car just seem to have lost soo much traction....

so I just want to know if this is normal...as I don't have much experience in this department...

the traction isn't bad on dry surface, but bump steer certainly has gotten worse.

Car is lowred on skunk2 springs.

EDIT:

sorry forgot to specify that I push the SPC bolts to max Negative camber to fix the front rubbing.

i had an alignment after lowering, but with the camber bolts, I just pushed both to max so I didnt think it needed alignment...

U need to make sure you have the alignment checked... Seems to me your front toe might be off.

yah, not sure how much neg your bolt provides but if it's more than -2 you will have issues with straightline grip in the wet.

i would get that car aligned run no more than -1.8 for street use. you can do like -2.2 at the track by that's too much for street imho.

Yeah, get it aligned after I put in my bolts and added neg camber the toe was really bad causing the tires to slip and slide in the rain. With 0 to .05 toe out and -2.0 - -2.5 camber it rides straight and bump steer virtually eliminated.

yah, you only need the 2 wheel alignment since the rear is fixed... dont waste your money at the dealer getting a 4wheel alignment. lol

Yeah, the crappy thing is most will consider this a custom align so they'll charge extra. If they do say it's more for custom alignment ask em if they can align it with you in the car as it changes when you jump in the car.

So I took my car in to get it aligned, I tried my luck by asking to pay half cuz I only need 2 wheel alignment, but they wouldn't do it, so I was like ok...and then they were like, wait you lowered you car? we need to charge more, and i was like WTF? all I need is toe correction, leave everything else. so after a fit, they went ahead and did it. But guess what, after telling them over and over and over and over and over...not to change the camber, then went ahead and correct the camber as well....needless to say, they have to do everything all over again.

but after everything is done, the problem is gone! car handled 200% better!!!

my front toe was way off...

again, thanks for all the help guys! I really appreciated it.
