Did you compress the suspension when you put it back together? The nut #8 should be taught which compresses the springs which takes up any slack once the car is lowered.

Yeah I did, well at least i think I did but I suspect the nut didn't go as much in as it should have. I'll give it a go later on. Thanks Goobers for the chart.

Actually, nut isn't that important for the spring... as when you lower your car onto the ground, the car pushes on grommet #13, which sits directly onto of bearing #11. And bearing #11 pushes on top perch #9. When the car is on the ground, there will most likely be a gap between nut #8 and bearing #11... any contact is minimal.

What you actually want is to minimize the distance between nut #8 and #17... the tighter you squeeze those two together, the less the top of the strut moves relative to the car.

edit#1

patyong:

Looking at your picture some more, I think you put the nut on top of the grommet #13, instead of the grommet on top of the nut.

In the chart, you'll notice the box surrounding most of the parts... that's to indicate a "complete strut assembly"...

edit #2

Oooh, you're in Australia... so you have a JDM Fit then. That picture is from Bernardi Honda for USDM. I don't know if that matters, since I don't know if there's a different in the strut assembly.

Hey Goobers, thanks for you input. You're absolutely right. How silly of me to place that nut on top of the grommet. I've got everything going and thanks again!
