Tanabe GF210 after 70,000 miles - Which struts?

My GF210's have been perfect over 70,000 miles and the stock struts of my GD3 are still going strong. However, I think I should prophylactically replace the struts this summer. Is there a good strut that is designed for lowered Fits? Monroe and KYB are the brands most common on the market, but they seem to be OEM replacements. Tokico has a good reputation right? But they are super expensive.

I may just buy another set of OEM struts, they seem to handle the GF210's well. Suggestions?

It sucks that the Tokico sale ended, they were marked down by 70%

prophylactically?!? I think you meant proactively

The ONLY strut with increased valving designed for the higher spring rates of lowering springs on the GD3, is the the Tokico HTS When they were like $550 shipped they were the best bet.

After 70K on OEM struts (did you cut bump stops?) I am CERTAIN they are no longer at 100% If you still feel that the ride is acceptable though, than the KYB, Tokico Blue, Monroe or OEM replacements will probably suit you OK.

There's also T1R S-Spec dampers. That and the Tokico HTS are the only options I know of, unless the T1Rs are discontinued now.

But it seems like every time the T1R dampers show up for sale used, there's a blown shock or broken adjustment knob. They don't show up for sale too much though so I'm not sure what that says about the quality, if anything.

They are, no longer in production last time I spoke to T1R.

Last I had heard, the reason the Tokico's had been put on sale was to clear all stock from the ware house. I would call them before I even considered ordering those as they may be gone too

I may put my suspension setup back to 100% stock except for my sway bar. I sat in a non-modified Fit the other day, and maybe I'm getting old, but it was just so much more comfortable. The only thing that really bothered me about the stock + RSB setup was the brake dive. Amazon does have 2 more HTS's for $832 but that's still kind of much.

Looks like your shocks and springs had a good run. Funny how many people always suggest to change the shocks right away because the aftermarket springs will blow the OEM ones. How was the drop on those springs? Probably not enough to hurt the shocks?
