130K miles FIT need to replace SHOCKS and STRUTS

Hi I'm looking to replace my shocks and struts. I don't want to lower my FIT just want stay with factory height I want to get something better than OEM any suggestion guys I asked dealership and is going to cost me around $1200 to get everything done I wonder is it really that expensive.

I had to replace mine at 70k, and yes it costs that much.

That's way too much. If you have any mechanical experience or have a buddy that does, you can just purchase OEM or OEM type struts/shocks. I've personally used KYB GR2 (same as Excel-G) OEM shocks and they handled great. They're supposed to be a tad bit stiffer than OEM shocks, which is great because the stock shocks are a bit too soft.

I usually checkout Rockauto as them seem to have the lowest prices, but do a
bit of searching. You should be able to find them for about $300 shipped and installation would be free (Or the cost of lunch and a six pack) if you have a good buddy.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know anyone that know about cars if someone live in Oregon can tell me some trusted auto repair shops that will be awesome

No, had mine done at an independent shop. I stay away from stealerships for repair or service.

1200 is way too much.

Parts alone should be around 400 and another 200-250 for install.

Your best bet is buying the shocks/struts and springs yourself then taking them to a shop for install.

Seriously check out tirerack.com for KYB shocks struts, and plus they do free shipping.
