Replacing shocks?

Hi everybody. I've used this forum many times to get information, but this is the first time I've ever posted anything.

I've got a 2010 Honda Fit Sport with just over 106k miles on it, that is my daily driver. The ride has degraded some over time. So I'd like to replace the shocks to get a smoother, more comfortable ride than the OEM shocks gave. Of all the research I've done, I can't seem to find any info for this. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Get these ($300) if you want a bit if spice:
09-14 Fit - STR.T- Street (Orange)
(Front)
8750 1102L
8750 1102R
(Rear)
8050 1131

Get some of these if you want run of the mill performance:
KYB or Gabriel parts for slightly cheaper.
SACHS (OEM) for about $200.

KYB, Gabriel and Koni have lifetime warranty.

Thanks for the reply. Which of these will give me the most comfortable ride? I'm assuming I can use any of these with the stock springs? I do not want to lower the ride height.

Koni is performance oriented; also non-adjustable, so it's a no go, but others have reported they feel better than stock ones. KYB and Gabriel and Sachs are all designed to restore OE performance ... so you want to go with these for comfort. As to which one is more comfortable out of these ... I really have no clue.

Use the stock springs with confidence.

Also, my fit is the GK (never owned the previous generations), but during my research for shocks I came across the aforementioned parts for the previous gen fit. Others on this forum can guide you which one is better/what their experience is like with aftermarket shocks/struts.

i have a 2010 as well and i know exactly what you mean about it degrading over time!

I almost sold the car, and when I got some bilsteins.. it felt like it was better then stock!

another huge thing is the sway bar, your torso beam or whatever is called gets cracked overtime, and the sway bar will stiffen it back up allowing you to corner at normal speeds and higher.

KYB at 112k miles

I was finding my ride quality to be getting sort of "bouncy" at 112,ooo miles, so I replaced the original shocks and struts with KYB's (from Amazon). Even doing the work myself it was still about $600 US, but worth the expense to get the ride and handling back to original. I'm now at 123k miles and thinking seriously about replacing the 2009 Fit with a Civic this fall. The EX-T Civic with the 1.5 L turbo engine and 6-speed manual transmission looks like the sweet spot for me. The Si is nice but I don't want to get locked into buying premium gas.

I recently bought KYBs for the wife's CIVIC (110K miles) and they feel pretty good (no porpoising after hitting a bump).

These were reasonably priced vs OEM. I bought the complete assembly (strut & spring as one unit) for a local shop to install. It looked like it would have cost more to have shop disassemble / install strut than a complete replacement with all new (no rust / broken / worn) parts.

Got alignment checked / adjusted - all good for another 100K miles.
