Problem with DropZone lowering springs
Problem with DropZone lowering springs
Hey..
I have used this site a LOT but this is my first time posting. I recently decided to keep my Fit and start working on it. Nothing special, just didn't want to drive it stock anymore if I was going to keep it as a daily. Now that I've started working on it, I'm totally in love with the possibilities of this car. I've owned Civics, Tegs, etc. always lowered them. I never lowered any car any other way except through just basic lowering springs. So since I don't have much money, and I just wanted a basic drop, I started researching on here. I saw a few Fit owners that had ordered the DropZone springs and were pretty happy with them, considering their price, etc. Found some on ebay, ordered. I was going to put them on myself, but just can't find the time, lately, and I can't stand riding around without them, SOOO i took my car up the street to a little shop and they said they'd put them on for me right then, blah blah blah. Ok, so turns out, they said they couldn't put them on because the oem shocks were too long. At first I was very confused and kept trying to talk to them because I wanted to make sure I understood what I was saying. So I kept asking them if they thought the springs were just not the right ones for the car or if they were labeled wrong (i read that a lot of the time the DropZones come labeled wrong) or something and they just kept saying no, the shocks were too long. Said that the springs weren't sitting in the cup correctly. (the drop on the springs, BTW was a 1.5 in the front and 1.8 in the back) Since these guys didn't seem to speak very good english, I wanted to make sure I was understanding them, correctly. They told me I needed to order shorter shocks for the springs to work. So here's my main question (which I also asked them).....why am I just now having a problem with THIS car, when I've never had to replace anything else on my other Hondas just to install lowering springs? It's not like I'm slamming the car, the drop is pretty subtle. When I asked them this, they simply told me that all of my other cars must have had "BAD SHOCKS"......I may not be a suspension specialist but I've been doing this for years and have just found myself so very confused. Anyone else had this problem? If not, did I just pick a really bad place to take my car to? I am currently trying to research whether or not I was sent the correct springs. I bought them off of ebay and when they arrived I had no invoice or anything. Just numbers on the box which one side was scribbled out and changed while the other side was left alone. UGHHHH i'm sorry I made this such a long story, I'm just very frustrated. NEVERRRRR had this kind of trouble with a set of lowering springs. I'm not sure if anyone could really help me out here before I know for sure whether i DO have the correct springs or not, but I've asked a million of my friends and they all pretty much say one of 2 things....1.There's no way the oem shocks could be too long for such a small drop, 2. It's possible. -_-
Any advice on this would be great and thank you in advance for reading this mess.

It sounds like they are talking about the bump stop on the strut. I used a DIY I found here for my install and it only took about an hour and a half with two of us.

As for the springs them selves. Mine where labeled wrong and upside down but with these being so cheap that is no big surprise. I have had mine on for a couple of months and had no issues. The ride is a but stiff and the drop ended up being closer to 2 F and 1.8 R.

Yes I see on Ebay they have the springs listed from 07-12 Fits on the same item number. Unfortunately 07-08 springs are different than 09+.
I would return under the premise that their listing is incorrect if you got them on EBay. Buy some springs that are sold specifically for 09+.
