17x8 +40mm offset for 2020 Fit EX

I am buying a 2020 Fit EX today, and I would like to take the wheels that I have from my Acura and move them to the Fit. Will these wheels work without issue? (Link is below.)

ET+40 with 8" wheels might be pretty tight, only way to tell is to mount and go lock to lock and see if it rubs anywhere.

You'll be losing 12mm of inside clearance, and be poking 38mm on the outside. You will probably have to roll your fenders if you plan on any sort of drop, and even if you don't you should expect a fair bit of poke on both the front and the rear.

Thanks, but also....

Thanks for the quick reply. That said, what is "poke"?
I really know nothing. My old acura was used and abused before I got it. I did everything I could, but when it started losing gears it was the end haha. Since I have this one fresh I wanna care for it.

it's good to know that I can probably make it work, as I don't plan on lowering the car at all, but please explain what poke is for the uneducated crowd (me) when you have some time.

For now, it is sitting perfectly happy on oem wheels so no huge hurry.

Poke is pretty much what it means... that is, the tires are wide enough that they extend or 'poke out' beyond the car body (google image search for "wheel poke" and you'll see some examples). Some people really like that look, but the problem is that if you lower the car or hit a speed bump the tire will rub against the fender. Do this too often and you risk damaging the tire beyond repair, or causing an accident and risking safety of you and other drivers.

One other thing, just make sure the bolt pattern is 4x100.
