215/50r15 will they fit

My rims are getting refinished the centers oxidized (never saw winter)
I need to get new tires, and i was wondering if I could use 215/50r15 on the stock sport rims with T1R springs that i have on the car????

I ran them on my car. Less offset and a wider rim. (15x6.5in with a 42mm offset) It rubbed on the outside fender lip. With the OEM wheels it shouldnt rub. If anything on the rear inside fender well.

Just do it.

Go to the tire shop (Canadian Tire?) and see if they'll mount one up for you. The only real tight spot I've seen for stock-offset wheels is the rear shock absorber... there's about 1/2" there with the 195/55's, but a 215/50 might just squeak by. You really only need 1/4" to be fine with stiff sidewall, low-profile tires.

BTW, what brands are you finding in that size? I only found two at TireRack, and only 3 brands at tires-easy.com. That would be my tire size of choice, but I don't want to have to hunt for one when I really need one...

I was thinking of the bf goodrich g force sport. The problem I am having is I am probably going to get them fromm tirerack as they are $86 dollars but up here in toronto they want $195(installed). I drive 200km a day so I can't afford to have any rubbing, so I may just go with 205/50r15.Then I may lean towards michelin pilot or yokahama?

Man, go tell them the US/CA exchange rate is MUCH better now... Crap, that's high! Drive across the border and get that work done.

With a lot of driving, I'd be hesitant to run a tire that was shorter than OEM, and the 205/50 is about 0.4" shorter than the 195/55. Maybe not a BIG deal, but it would add up over time. That said, you could probably buy a lot of gas for the difference in price, since there are TONS of 205/50's out there.
