The "+45" lightweight wheel thread
Simple purpose for this thread; to get a list together of 15" rims that are under about 18lbs but also have a +45 offset or greater for Fit owners (so, 4x100 bolt pattern only).
I can barely find any wheels that meet this specification; please post up wheels you know of with the approximate weight & offset. Wheels with anything less than a +45 available offset will not be added. If the wheel is not a 6.5" or 7" width, please also post that information.
Spoon Sw388 (+45) - 8.1lbs (Member Note: Possible caliper clearance problems)
volk ce28 (+45) 8.45lbs

Sugarphreak,
Do the wheels have to come in the 15" size?
I was hoping to volunteer that the 16" Rota Circuit 10s weigh in at exactly 17 lbs., since the thread was all about lightweight wheels with +45 offset.

It used to be all 40+, but Rota is now doing a bunch of rims now available with a +45 offset.
I did make a mistake though, the Boost are only showing available in a 16" size
Boost - ROTA Wheels
Do you know off-hand what the weight for the 16" is?
I don't see why not, I will start a second list on the original post for 16's that meet the same criteria.

Ok, I updated the main post with the newest wheels. Thanks guys!
If anybody can find the weight for the TSW rims I will post it up!
+42 is pretty common, I ran that size myself and I ran into rubbing trouble. I know with a little work or even the type of tire you choose allows people to use them.
Basically I was hoping to get a list of wheels that feature more uncommon offsets for members who really want to get a wheel that has a minimal risk or rubbing. Finding wheels with these offsets is pretty challenging, I am hoping this list can help people who are hunting around for it.
I will add the 16" type C though. Nice catch, I didn't think they offered a +44 on the 16" wheel. +44 will be an exception, this is the only wheel I have seen with that offset to be honest. No +43's will make the cut (lots of wheels with +43, only 1mm more than +42 seems too close)
Fantastic wheels no doubt, but they don't quite make it into the list because of the offset.

LOl, we shoudl also have a section for 17" and thern after everything is doe and done we can get a sticky made. I mean most ge owners have no idea what is going on, you ge guys know this shit but we kinda get screwed with offsets on the ge.
So i say lets add 17" but really, its gonna be tough to find 45+ and higher offsets, Ive been looking near all night lol~!

They are out there, but you really have to do your homework. I can find billions of rims, but so many sites don't like the offset & weight... just the dia and bolt pattern if you are lucky. Good ones are 1010tires.com and also Tirerack.com, but they have +40 offset wheels show up when you use their car-specific application program.
Yeah we could do that too, might as well just get a complete list of rims that meet these specs. There are a lot of heavy rims that have high offset, but I think anybody who is serious about getting a rim that does not rub under heavy cornering is also looking for something that is lighter than the stock wheels too.
My 17's are RTX +45, they weigh in at 41lbs each with 195/40 tires... same as weight as my stock rims and snow tires.

Agreed. I was looking at a few online wheel sellers, and I was surprised +40 seemed to be the most common offset for a number of wheel makers there (Konig for instance).

ya man, 17's are a toughie forsure. Ill prob end up going with a 17x7 43mm and im sure ill be fine lowered on the df's with 205-40-17, others have done it (well one other) on a ge and no camber bolts needed with MINIMAL rubbing up front only on HARD turns!

I don't know I ran 17x7 Tenzo GF7's with a +42 offset and I had rubbing problems. I can't see +43 being all that much better.
Check out Rota wheels, they have quite a few wheels (I think even more 17" wheels than 15" or 16") that are starting to be offered with a +45 offset.
Wheel Catalog - ROTA Wheels
Enkei also offers a lot more larger rims (17" and up) in a +45 or greater offset... even the new RPF1 type 2

My original plan was to leave my car stock and pick up a cheap wheel package ()
Anyway, I started off with Tenzo (+42) GF7's with 205/40/17's on them. I rubbed constantly. When I went back to the shop they ground off that little black tab almost to nothing at the back... but it still rubbed.
After about 2 weeks of this I finally went back to the shop again and they offered to exchange the rims for something else with a higher offset. I had a choice between like 3 different rims that had +45, I went with the RTX Neurotoxin's because the other ones were totally ghey
That fixed the problem totally, no rubbing (whoo hooo)
Of course the mod bug had settled in by then and I dropped the car on Tanabe GF210's... the rubbing returned!! Even with a +45 offset I was rubbing on bumps, corners and whenever I had passengers in the back seat.
So I decided to try out different tires, I bought a set of 195/40 Continental ContisportContact2's. After that, no rubbing, even under the hardest conditions; Thus the following was possible!
Now that I want to find a lighter wheel I am having a hard time finding something that will work. I can only imagine other people are too, that was my motivation behind "the list"
If you hate Rota's it does seem that Enkei has a good selection of 17" rims that have +45 offsets!
