i think 17's are a bit to big for the fit....i used to have 17's on it with nitto 555r....im now on 16x7 motegi's with 205-45-16 bfg g-sports and it seems to be just right....15's would be good also if you went to a 15x7...basicly wider tire helps quite a bit for traction/handling etc....the 17's with the nitto 555r's would cut corners like you wouldnt believe but there wasnt enough sidewall and ride quality suffered...
what im trying to say here is 16's are a good compromise between ride quality and handling since the sidewall on the 16's is tall enough to keep ride quality from going south but not as tall as 15's and feeling like the car is "loose" around corners from all the sidewall flex.

if that fit in your sig is yours those wheels you have now are what im going to on my si.

I think 17's are the biggest you can go on the fit, but keep in mind of the drop in performance and fuel economy!

I have a 2007 Fit and only changed the wheels for a reduction in rotating weight and wider rims, and stuck with the stock size tires..... If you want to improve your car, go lighter, if you are doing it for looks there are a lot of dropped cars with lots of pretty wheels to pick from by looking at some of the older threads on this forum and all over Fit Freak.... Tire Rack is a great place to look and they have a feature that allows you to see how they will look on your car...... Do a lot of looking before you buy, there are quite a few guys that change wheels more often than I change underwear and you can sometimes get a deal on the ones they liked 6 months ago..... Also there seems to be more and more people buying 15" and 16" wheels now to replace 17" wheels due to the ride quality and drain on performance.
