One of my wheels is a different color!!!
I just put some bronze Circuit 10 wheels on my Fit and now I have noticed that the rear drivers side is a darker shade. It appears that it is a paint defect or something. Three of the rims are bronze and the other looks like a mix of gunmetal and bronze. My wife drives the car everyday and since she parks it in the garage, I see the passenger side more than the drivers side. But, as soon as I went to take pictures of our Fit I noticed it. At first I thought it was the light angle, but after looking at it closer it is def a different shade of color(I'm not seeing things). I ordered the rims from JLB Motorsports. I called them and sent them an email, but no response yet. Has anyone ever heard of this issue before? I know Rota is a knockoff of the Mugen wheel, but they are cheap and they look good, as long as they all match.
Thats what I figured. I got an email from JLB and they say that they knew of paint problems from Rota. They Told me on the phone that they inspected the rims before they shipped them to me. I figured that they would look for paint inconsistencies.
are they going to exchange it with a wheel that matches? I got my wheels from JLB and they were always nice and trying to help me out. (was looking for white circuit 8's but i guess they dont make them anymore in that color) You would think that if they inspected them like they said, they would notice an extreme color difference. How bad is the difference in color?
The color is off so much that it looks like I have three bronze rims and one gunmetal. I called JLB and told them that the rim was a much darker shade. I figured that they would send me a correct color rim, but this is the email they sent back.
Dear Chad,
I apologize you were not called back yesterday. We had an overwhelming amount of phone calls, and as it was, we had three employees working an extra two hours of overtime. Again, we apologize.
Rota wheels are known to have some inconsistencies, and our company has been diligent about posting accurate information about the wheels on the forums. If and when possible, we always try to point out the inconsistencies on various public forums, so that the information is readily available.
With that said, Rota is usually pretty good about taking care of this sort of thing. It might be a slight issue that the wheels are already mounted, but normally they don't raise too much of a fuss over it. However, labor costs are not refundable (for obvious reasons, Rota will not reimburse third party labor costs).
We have forwarded your information to Rota for the claim, and we'll do our best to stay on top of them.

yeah when they are mounted, there is always a problem. Hopefully rota will take care of it and get you a matching wheel. It might be hard to get a matching one of the other three bc the color obviously changes depending on the batch.
