Arrow is it okay to paint my axle nut?

I recently picked up new rims w/o center caps which exposes a rusted rotor and an even uglier axle/hub nut. i was wondering if anyone has painted theirs or if theres anything warning against doing this

If you want to paint the axle nut, just be sure to degrease it first. Also keep stray paint OFF the friction surfaces of rotor and pad. Other than that, go nuts, have fun, share some pix!

Why show your nuts?

You could always go the way of the Center Caps and not worry about painting them. Keep it classy. Keep it OEM.
