GD3 Opinions

I have an 07 GD3 Sport, Alabaster Silver. I'm thinkin of going with:

Rota R-spec, Gunmetal, 16 x 7" 40 offset. Dunlop Direzza 205/45/16

I'm lowered 1.6F/1.3R on H&R sport coils. What do you guys think of Fitment (rubbing), looks, etc. I'm gettin a pretty good deal for them brand new from a local performance shop. The other tire option I have is the Yokohama S drive, but looking at reviews they don't seem all that great. (S drives would be $14 a tire more than the Dunlop's)

Most likely, you'd get a little to moderate rubbing. The general guideline to a GD with 205s is no offset lower than +42mm at stock height (or no lower than +45mm when lowered) or you will rub.

Might be able to get rid of front rubbing by "tucking" the fender liner. As for the rear you'd either have to file down the tabs by the bumper screw for clearance or you'd have to cut that tab for the bumper's screw all together, drill a hole in a different location of the bumper and zip-tie/screw it in place there.

Hopefully someone that did the hole relocation method can chime in with pics and better details.

u will be fine with that set up. I have 16 with a +42 ans tires are 205/45/16. I have skunk 2 coilovers. There is basicly no wheel gap the fronts I tucked the fender liner up and there is only rubbing on hard bumps and turns. the rears with a 5mm spacer jsut barly clears the fender lip so there will be no rubbing what so ever. Unless maybe you have alot of shit in the back

damn... now someone else is going to have rspecs...

40's might have a bit of rubbing in the rear, but just trim the tabs a bit and you should be fine....

sdrives aren't that great, but will last much longer than the star specs... they're really quite different tires...

I run 16x7 +40 circuit 8s. I rubbed front and back. I cut whole fender lip off front and two inches off outer liner in front. Rolled rear lip, cut off tab, and drilled new rear bumper mount holes. Then I custom aligned to-1° front and -1.6° rear. No rubs now. I was on skunk springs then 1.5 front. Rear cut to 1.5. Now im on tein 1.8". Still no rubs
