Enkei vs Vaarstoen 16x8 vs 16x7

Hello lads,

Been trolling your hood for the last week and it's been a very rich experience but man i'm confused I am from Australia by the way and i have been looking at upgrading my rims and this forum has been the best place to gather information.

I came down to two choices:
1. Enkei - priority 1
2. Vaarstoen

ok now here are the specifications:
Enkei - 16x8 +38
Enkei - 16x7 +35
Vaarstoen - 16x8 +25

I am very tempted with the 16x8, almost bought it last night but calmed myself down and thought i better not rush into it and ask you guys first. I have plans for coil overs soon enough but just not yet.

Now, i don't need to lower the car extreme but i'd like have 1 or at least 2 finger gaps between my tyres and fenders.

I love this guy's car, in fact i am going to pm him now and ask him a few questions:
SOCAL: Enkei RPF01 16x8 35 - Unofficial Honda FIT Forums

spunkysandoval uses the vaarstoen:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...-thread-7.html

Will i rub with crazy with the 16x8 or should i stick to the 16x7 ???

Vaarstoen is my last choice, in case i can't get the enkei. Those 16" enkei's are impossible to find in OZ. Will need to buy them online from the US.

Thanks for your help, really appreciate it.

Oh, by the way i have a 2011 Fit , bought it last year.

Good luck on finding wheels. Being in Canada I find them to be really expensive so have not got any yet. Eights seem to be a lot of tire. I suspect would hurt fuel economy and put a strain on the suspension system but them I do not know.

I am on Swift springs.

Hmmmm, good point. I sure did not think about that ;-).

I drive long distances at times and fuel consumption is something I need to also consider.

I mean within Australia bro :-) We're not so lucky down here and everything comes limited.

At Jdm, I can drive down, physically pick it up and drive nack home a happy camper.

Actually i might do that, but first I want to finish reading that offset sticky thread in the shoes section

I am up to page 30 and gotta go up to 93 pages Lots of info there and they seem to be happy with +35 but i'll wait until i finish reading the entire thread to make a decision.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure, forgive my ignorance, this my first Honda. I know we call it a Jazz down here and it's a VTi comes with the 15" rims with body kit all round and cruise control and bluetooth. That should give you an idea

Ok, so i gathered that +43 will align perfectly with the front guard and +35 will align perfectly to the rear guards. or fenders, not sure Yess ?

Is it even possible to have a car with all wheels aligned to the fenders without rubbing ? or do you guys buy wheels with different offsets for this purpose.

+35 will stick out in front definitely but will work a treat in the back.

What if i go +38 or +40, a little bit of a compromise between the extreme +35 and traditional +43??

Also, i don't mind gettting coil overs instead of springs if need be.

Thanks for the help.

For the GE +45 or higher is safe to run. Usually anything +43 to +38 runs the chance of you rubbing in front (depending on how low you are and the size of your tires). To combat that most guys run coilovers and or roll there fenders. Also instead of buying two different offset wheels you should consider using a spacer on the rear wheels to get the offset you want ( that way you can rotate your tires without rubbing).

1. True indeed, won't be able to rotate with different offsets . Hence no different offsets.

2. That fat black chic is in your avatar flashes in a lot of threads i have been. You do speak a lot of sense.

3. +43 limit seems to be the norm on this forum for a hassle free ride, you are spot on.

4. OK, so if i go 16x7 +43 with 205/50/16 potenza r002, will this align to my fenders ?.
The front tyres will be out by a few mm i presume as they say +43 is the right offset for aligning to your front fenders. But what do you reckon for the rear fenders ?

I am tempted with a +40 but on the enkei website i see they only have +38 and +43 for 16", nothing inbetween.

Thanks heaps for your advice bro, appreciate it.

Given i am already asking you questions, let me ask you another one, if you don't mind

If i want a 1 finger gap in the front and a 2 finger gap rear, out of Teins or Eibach, which one would you recommend ? Thanks again

Ok,

I think i'm catching up to you now. I found a few pics and here is what i gather:

The white GE in this link running +45 with 205/50/16 has my desired height:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...thread-12.html
I see what you mean with those offset numbers and rubbing.

Here, i found a GE with 16x7 +43 205/50/16, my desired tyre size and this is what i presume it will look like:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/soca...dunlop-z1.html

Hence for this size of tyres, +43 is my best bet.

For lowering springs I would go eibach or Swift springs. I think +40mm is flush for the rear so 3mm spacers for the rear if you go for 16x7 +43mm. Also if your thinking of lowering it with +43mm wheels your probably gonna need some camber up front to negate rubbing. Eibach sells camber bolts.
