repolishing dirty lips on Kong Candys

*Konig
So I just traded for these with a local buddy.. nasty dirty for now but i love the fitment so far.

I've found a few write ups on repolishing these myself but I was wondering if aircraft stripper was necessary? Would it be okay to strip the clear off the lips and wash it off w/o affecting the centers? Or can I just sand it starting from 400 or 600 grit?

You might want to media blast those things and just repaint them. That crap looks like its gonna be a pita to get off.
