Please advise on size and offset for my Honda Jazz

Hi,

I own a 2012 Honda Jazz. I live in India. My stock wheels are 15" and tyres are 175/65 R15. Ride is at stock height as well.

I am planning to buy a nice set of aftermarket wheels. The ones that i have shortlisted are Advan RG2 (15") and Rays Gramlights 57Accelerate (15 or 16).

I need to know which is the best offset for my ride so that no rubbing issues occur. On the website they have given the following options:

Advan RG2 - 15"x6.5 - offsets available are +35, +41, and +48
Rays Gramlights 57 Accelerate - 15"x6.5 - +38
& 16"x6.5 - offsets available - +38, +42, +48 & +52.

Please suggest the best offset from these options.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Deepu

You should be okay with any of those offsets brother. As long as you don't go lower than 25 offset you'll be okay I had 0 offset on my fit and I was rubbing all over the place but a lot of people on here run 25 with no issues

hi buddy.. nice to see someone from India too

dont go for 16 inch, as our honda jazz is underpowered as compared to US spec.
205 50 r16 is available for our jazz, but this setup would ruin acceleration , fuel economy etc.

so i advice you to get offsets above +35 on 15 x 6.5 inch rim and 195 55 or 195 60 tyres.

apart from that if you need mugen body kit at an attractive price you can contact me at nripensinghb@yahoo.in

cheers

Without camber bolts you will be OK not modding fenderliners with 15x6.5 +48 on 205/55/15, you can even lower it. If you went 195/60 you'd have even more room.

With camber bolts you can go 15x6.5 +41 with 205/55/15 without modding fenderliners and lower it. If you went 195/60 you'd have more room.

Around +38 15x6.5 you will need to cut fender liners and roll fenders and add camber bolts unless you have stiff springs on coilovers.

This has been my experience, I have 15x6.5 +40 on 205/55/15... I had to trim and tuck the fenderliner to not rub on full compression but I have soft Tein S-Tech springs and not-so-good shocks with no camber bolts.

The production for Advan RG2s have stopped. Thats soo sad.

Also, this whole idea of offset is quite confusing. i believe it depends on the design of the wheel.

What if, i consider Rays TE37 - 15x7 +35 offset

or

Rays RE30 - 15x7 +35 offset or 15x6.5 - +38/+43

I dont plan on doing any fender roll, lowering whatsoever at the moment because there are very few or no options for such mods in India.

So, as Wanderer suggests offsets within 35 - 38 is not advisable for Jazz, am i right? please correct me if am not.

I would not want the wheel spokes to protrude out as it ruins the look of the car.

The pic shown on this link is what i need the looks to be like. Hope you guys get my point.

i was running 15 x 6.5 +35 offset on 195 55 tyres on stock suspension.
the front wheel protrudes out just a tad, (barely noticeable) and the rear perfectly flush.
But no matter what this setup never rubbed, even with 6 people in car.

right now i am running 15 x 7 + 35 offset wheels on 195 55 tyre, lowered on tein, with camber bolts in front, spacers in the rear and i still dont rub.(perfectly flush all around)

rubbing also depends on how wide tyres you get, afterall its the tyres that rub.

205 55 tyre would probably rub on 15 x 7 + 35 offset, under heavy load/ full compression.

if you wish to have the wheels not to protrude with 15 x 7 +35 offset , then you should stay with stock tyres( 175 65 r15) and just change the rims.

otherwise u need offsets above +40 / +42 as said by wanderer in case you want wider rubber.

hope that helps

So you are saying that if i go for 15 x 7 with 35 offset on 195/55 it wont rub at all even on full load (6 persons) under complete stock settings.
