So I'm looking into buying a new set of summer tires for my GD3. I run GSR blades in the summer. I have eagle one GT tires on the rims now. They are garbage. They are 195/55/15. I'm looking at changing my tires size to 205/50/15. I'm also contemplating changing my rim colour from black to bronze. Previous owner did an awful paint job. Or I may just repaint black.

I have some serious winter tires. Forget the brand. Starts with a N and they only make winters. These tires have lasted 6-7 seasons. I want to get a good performance tire that will last this long in the summer.

No I do not track or drag. I do drive aggressive occasionally on the road.

I was looking at ordering the Dunlop Direzza ZII from tire rack. $105 a tire. I really want proxies but can't justify $160 a tire. I will be getting them in 205/50/15. Any thoughts on the Dunlops?

 

ZII is more than enough tire for a Fit. Like way more than ever necessary on the street.

I'd say that's almost too much tire just for street driving. If it was a dual/tri purpose car autox/track/street i'd say go for it. You'll probably be fine with HP Summer tires, 300-400TW. 200TW will be fun, but they'll wear quickly.

 

Go with the Bridgestone RE-11A. Although its a 200tw tire it will do well for you and last for a bit especially if you're only using it for summer time. Just stay on your rotations and make sure your toe is good. You'll really enjoy the handling as well.

 

I would just get an S.Drive or Dunlop DZ102.

 

^^ Ditto this. In all honesty anything under 280 TW is a bit over kill in my honest opinion for daily use unless you for sure WANT something extremely grippy but street able during good conditions.

 

This is why Ms. 410b's GD is getting Yoko Avid ENVigors for summer tires. A 'performance' all-season that can handle cool temps and will last a long time is exactly what we're looking for.

 

Both sets of mine lasted 25k-ish miles... of course I drive the car like it's stolen though. They are good 3 season tires... Comfy, quiet, and have great water drainage. Grip in the dry is not shabby but WAY better than the stock Dunlop SP31s. I highly recommend flipping and rebalancing them at half life to get the most oit of the tires since they are directional. I wouldn't recommend them if you plan on getting a wheel that is 7 inches wide, they'll wear in the center first (as if they're overinflated) even when pressure is set to 32 PSI.

I am currently contemplating on using 205/50R15s as daily tires this next round. Currently stuck between Nitto NeoGens (the 280 TW all season) or MAYBE Yokohama S.Drives.

 

We're putting them on 6.5j, Ms. 410b drives extremely gently and has proper snows for what seems like about 60% of the year.
