Need Help with 15x8 Sizing
I'm looking to buy some lightweight wheels and although almost everything calls for 15x7, I found some 15x8 with very thin wheels...and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to purchase them. This is the stats of the wheel and tire.
Original Stock Steel (2015 Fit LX) with 185/60/15
to
MATTE BLACK Wheels RAYS ENG. CE28
Size : 15x8
Bolt Pattern: 4x100/4x4.5
Center Bore: 73.1mm
Offset: +25mm
Lip Size: 2 Inch
Tire: HANKOOK
Spec: OPTIMO H724
Size: 175/50R15 75H
I'm wondering if this would be a good buy or not. If it would fit. The width is going smaller from 185 to 175, and sidewall from 60 to 50.
My goals are a focus on acceleration, fuel economy, and ride comfort, handling being last. I know I can't have all of the best of all worlds without paying a lot more...but at least, I'd like to know if the wheel will fit and will it start rubbing if I use these tires or my original tires into the new wheels.
Thank you! It's my first post here, so I hope I'm welcome to ask this kind of question.

Your math doesn't add up. A wider wheel is counter intuitive to your top three stated goals when most 15x6 or 15x5 wheels will have lower unsprung weight that will result in greater fuel economy and utilize the full contact patch on an otherwise narrow 175 tire, giving a more proper tire sidewall profile and better ride comfort. This isn't even taking into consideration that you're selecting an expensive wheel for the segment. An Enkei RPF1 in 15x7 et 41 is 9.5 lbs and comes in at ~$200 each, making a 3/1 savings over the RAYS. Unless you're finding the RAYS for a steal. If your number two stated goal is fuel economy then your implied goal is cost savings, making a $600 wheel counter intuitive as well. Not to mention that having a wider wheel with a lower et that comes close to, or exceeds, the fender front view will increase the vehicle's profile and drag coefficient, lowering fuel economy.
And have you compared tire weights and rolling resistance? They can vary as well.

Welcome to the forum!
If acceleration, MPG and comfort are your priority then a 15x8 is not going to satisfy all those.
All things considered... if you are lowered those wheels will require roll/pull and camber bolts to not poke and ultimately avoid rubbing.
I have 15x8 +35 and while I was at stock height I didnt rub at all...but the fronts stuck out past the fender. So the +25 you are looking at will make them stick out even more.
Now I'm lowered on coilovers with camber bolts and the fronts tuck perfectly and the rears required a roll to not rub the rear fender.
Consider looking at Konig's flow formed wheels (or any flow formed wheels for that matter) that are ~$100 and are around 10ish pounds. Flow Formed Wheels - Konig Wheels

Thanks everyone, I'll pass on what I found. Yes, they were 15x8 very expensive wheels with tires at 80%, and the guy wanted $600 for them. It's pretty much a steal, but it wouldn't work on my application and would cost more money just to get them to work. I think he didn't know what he had, or just want frustrated they weren't selling and needed the quick cash.
Thank you!
Thank you!
