GE Intake Manifold Cover - Gauging Interest Thread

Thanks to this thread https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...lve-cover.html started by Lil Blue, it looks like it's time to start an interest thread for an intake manifold cover for the 2nd Gen Fit. As seen by the GD covers, these covers are a great way to dress up the engine bay.

Rogue Fit has been contacted about this potential project. If there is enough interest in this product, hopefully we can get something going!

Post your interest here, including any questions or comments about what you would like in a manifold cover.

Have you guys thought about mounting points in the bay for the cover?

Not at all. Honestly, that's not my expertise. Quickly thinking about it, I don't have a clue. I figure this is something Rogue can look at and decide if it can be done.

i would be interested in a CF intake manifold if the price was right. My friend with a celica gt-s has a really nice looking TRD carbon fiber intake mani cover and i must say it makes the engine bay look very nice.

Hook and loop fasteners would work well..... Mount some LEDs in it to add a touch of ambiance when you open the hood at night to show it off.... Putting a Ravi Shankar CD in the sound system and burning incense would add to the effect.

would be sick if we had an all metal intake manifold first. that plastic portion is weak, but i'd be down for a clean cover till then.

has anyone taken this off to see the specifics of it? maybe a metal replacement wouldnt be too difficult. If theres enough people i can mock this up in autocad and get a laser cutter to cut and weld a bunch for us and they will all be the same this way.

Why is a plastic intake manifold bad? And how would a metal would be superior? Educate me?

Well as far as heat goes, and aluminum one would dissipate heat much faster than plastic which tends to hold onto it as residual for some time. As far as looks, i quote D.C. saying it would be BAMF and look amazing. Especially with a brushed look or polished satin finish. And of course easily paint-able.

And you forgot the sense of smell when you open the hood. Toss some roadkill on the header. Heck get the picnic basket out for some fine dining.

Yes I am interested in a cover.

it would also be nice if we could mock up a intake mani that goes out like the k20 does instead of going over the head, im sure it wouldnt be to hard and the air flow would be better cause it wouldnt have that extra bend and intakes would be easy to make for it too.
