can you wrap the radiator hoses in header thermal wrap to keep the heat from them radiating out to the engine compartment esp if you have an aftermarket intake that the filter is close to it???

 

Not a good idea. The hoses give off heat and assists in cooling the engine. Also the rubbe the hoses are mad of have a limit on heat handling. Insulating them could raise the temp above this limit.

Besides, all of the heat from the radiator and AC condensor are pulled into the engine compartment and out under the car. So would wrapping less than 2 feet of hose help?

 

wondering how to block heat from hose to the cone filter using a custom cai that put filter close to the radiator hose..

guess have to make a shield between hose and filter or custom box to go around the cai or filter

 

I have seen some of the cone filters with a sheild on three or four sides to keep heat away. I had on on my 2000 Dakota. Here is what the K&N looks like.
