Car Battery Died???
Car Battery Died???
hi guys, yesterday i left my car on.... to the point wherei can listen to the radio (engine was turned off)...... but like 1-2 hour later my head unit started flashing on and off.. it was weird i think my battery died.. i tried to start my car but it wouldnt work.... ive had this fit for only 3-5 months... should it be doing this ? after awhile i turned everything off and waited for about 30 minutes and i started my car it worked.... why did it do this? could it be potentially dangerous if i drove my car....?edit: ooo btw i have xenon hid's installed in my car could that potentiaally drain my battery or the cause of the problm?
The battery in the Fit is very very small.
From what I have experienced doing this myself, about 1 - 1.5 hours doing some interior mods with the interior lights on about 50% and the stereo on 100% is about all I got before dead city. Luckily I was in my garage and I just hooked it up on a slow charge overnight and in the morning no problems.
Turning everything off will let the battery rest and can sometime give you enough to start the engine. Good thing the Fit engine fires up so quickly.
once running drive it for 20 min or so and it should be fine.
As long as you charge the battery by running the car, (not just letting it idle, actually running it on the road to get the alternator turning at full capacity) or on a charger the battery will be fine and have a normal life. It this were something you did every day then you may run into issues.

if you drained a non-deep cycle battery like the ones that come in our
cars your battery will no longer charge to full. from my experiment a
few years back, after one drain the battery would only charge up to
about 75-80%. and from there down by 15-20% after each drain.
when you run any auxiliary on your car while the engine is off you
should put a charger on it. even if it's only 2A the battery will stay
"awake" and it appears it reduces memory quite abit. The battery
tends to charge over 95% even if you were running your stereo
and drained significantly while the battery was slow charging.
just keep the charger on there until the next morning to top if off.
im no battery expert, but have done experiments in the past while i
was kinda bord in the winter time working on my stereo and such.
hahaha.

You are correct Kenchan, If he had left the headlights on all night, then I would say the battery is toast. It just doesn't look like he got it below 80% or so since it still started the car after turning all of the accessories off.
wow guys ok thnx i will no longer do this again lolz....
