ha ha ha /\ small engines rev easier than big engines. take for instance a honda cbr600rr vs. a chevy 454. honda will rev to 16,000 and the chevy will rev to 5600.

i wish we could transplant a cbr1000rr motor into the fit. that would be bomb!!!!!
200hp and 14,000rpm of sweet motor goodness.

true but the bike motors dont have any torque for the weight of the car.
when transfering bike motors into cars the clutch is typically the weak link. i would love to try put that motor into the fit. i love that high rpm whine.

and they are rated at 200hp from the factory. plus there ar turbo kits out there for them. its a costly transplant.

not enough to haul around the 2400lbs that the fit weighs.

thats why you'll need 2. 1 for each wheel. and while doing that, might as well power the 2 proper wheels (rear)

Urban myth... grandpa never drives his car over 45 mph, kid buys it, first time it's stomped on it blows up. Crack that one, good way to keep the thread alive.

My sis had a Tracer that never saw over 2500 rpm. The carbon buildup was so severe the internals were out of balance after 70k. Always tried to jump out of its mounts, especially the time I took it to 4k. It shook crap off the dash. That was an older car tho.

Actually the Onan engine in the lawn tractor has that problem, when it's not eating main seals. If it isn't run full rpm when running the PTO the heads gotta come off every year to have carbon cleaned off.

Rev it up, if she blows just drop a K-series into it. I cant wait till I blow mine up, knowing honda engines that will be up in the 300 000 km mark lol.

These motors are made to handle alot more revs than the oem ecu will allow. My 8 valce FIT loves to rev but runs out of air around the redline. The torque on mine is fantastic for a 1.3L

yeah i wouldnt worry about it too much...ive accidently missed 4th gear a couple times so far(when shifting at redline) think i probably slipped it into 2nd gear since i hit 8k...(only twice in the past 2 years)still no problems, engine takes the abuse like a champ.
