Steven Virgadamo considering new honda
Hi I'm considering a new honda and am looking for suggestions regarding which model might be best for commuter use?
Any suggestions and gas mileage data would be helpful.
Thank you

What type of car are you most interested in?
The Fit is a great commuter car, but then again, a lot of cars are good commuter cars. Here are a few things about the Fit that especially stand out and differentiate it from other class competitors;
Sporty handling and characteristics
Large storage capability and Honda Magic Seat
Great gas mileage - the 2013 Fit gives you 35 mpg EPA, but we regularly achieve more than that under normal circumstances but 35 is a safe estimate. The new 2015 Fit which is arriving in a month or less claims 40 mpg.
35+ mpg for a car that provides a nearly perfect balance of everything a car should have (at least in my opinion) is amazing.
Does not have a rental car appearance like the Corolla, base Civic, and other economy cars have. This matters to some people. Also you won't be seeing these on every corner of the street. Creates a sense of uniqueness. If you mind this type of stuff that is.
Honda reliability. These vehicles are really easy to maintain. Take it from a Fit owner. Oil changes and the regular tune-ups and fluid changes will keep it reliable.

Some cons;
Not much power from the 1.5L - produces 117 horsepower which sounds fast (revs high), but it's pretty slow to be completely honest. But the sporty characteristics, responsive steering, and somewhat sporty suspension, make up for that.
Interior quality is not like the Civic's for example, you have some flimsy looking pieces, they're durable but feel flimsy. But they're not bad by any means, and it's certainly loads better than a comparable Scion xD. 2015 model introduces a new upscale interior which probably deals with a lot of the quality.
Same goes for the lack of tech in the current Fit, which the new 2015 also promises to fix.

This is all I could think of at the top of my head, if you have any further questions we'd be more than happy to answer them! Good luck on shopping for your new car!
