2008 Base Accessories

Hi
I just bought a 2008 Fit Base. There are two accessories I'd like to add. Keyless Entry and AUX jack.

The radio has an AUX button so I'm assuming there is an empty port in the back of the radio I can plug into.
Any advice on the best one to buy? Its for a non apple device, I don't care about controlling the music from buttons on the car radio.

I think I can buy the OEM Keyless entry online, just might need some advice on installing it myself or paying someone else.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The keyless entry is super-easy to install. It is plug-and-play and comes with instructions. Check College Hills Honda's website. I think I bought mine for like $120 or so. I can't remember if the stereo has the auxiliary port in the back or not but can check when I get home in a little bit.

aux port for 2008 Fit Base

The aux port only comes on the sport model 2007/08 Fit. However, there are people who have managed to wire the jack onto a Fit Base. I just took my car to a radio repair shop, and found out the Fit uses an Alpine radio with Honda's own faceplate/bezel assembly. My display has gone bad, and I need to buy the bezel assembly from the dealer. I'm working on making a harness to connect the AUX Jack to the radio. The aux port jack is quite pricey..you can order it at the dealer for about $75.00. I'm using shielded wires and some sub D connectors to hook up the 5 pins from the jack to the radio. Once you plug something into the port, you should be able to see things switch over on the display.

Several months ago I purchased an ipod/aux kit from GTA Car kits. It works flawlessly, no modifications needed. They even have an instructional video on their website to show you how to remove the radio for installation. Highly recommend it.

If its not accessory kit, why go through all that trouble when with the same install time/cost you could by a deck with xm/bt/aux?

In canada we got the AUX port on the base fits. In the states it was an option.

In the United States it was only an option if you bought the Sport because the Sports came with it. The Base model did not, though the center consoles are the same but the Base just has a plug where the Sport has the jack near the auxiliary power port.

I installed keyless entry on my 2007 base model. I believe I posted a thread somewhere on the board for part numbers and everything. Was last summer I did it around June or July.
