Good afternoon Ladies & Gents! (timezone depending)
As promised the time has come to update my new daily driver as I modify it. My daily in Vancouver was written off while I was overseas. It wasn't the most reliable daily, being a boosted altezza, but none the less its left a void I needed to fill. My track car remains overseas, other than being time attack it shares nothing with my interest in Fits/Jazz'. So, as of last month I purchased a BONE stock 5spd White Fit Sport, a very dirty one... I've done two oil changes since purchase (Yeah I've driven 10k in a month...). Tackled all recommended maintenance from Honda, timing readjustment, new plugs, air filter, brake pads, even flushed all my fluids. I noticed my passanger caliper wasn't sliding as easily as the driver so I ordered a new one. But here she is...
My container arrived last weekend and I've just jumped right into it full swing, everything that arrived is now on!
Tackled interior first;
Nardi Deep Corn 350mm
Works Bell Hub
Mugen Sports Pedals
Buddy Club Short Shifter
Limited Run Tear Drop Shift Knob from my S2K days...
Jumped into the engine bay to really throw some go fast goodies on (this is a joke)
For the Suspension I chose a set of Tein Flex Z's (5k Front, 6k Rear). The set is intended for Jazz specific GD3's so I had to bore the lower bolt holes to our specific size. Other than this it was a relatively smooth install. Tein ships new endlinks which is a huge plus as stock won't fit. I've always had a soft spot for Tein and they've served me incredibly well over my life, so here's to hoping this set is nothing but good!
I decided to remove my fender liners straight out of the gate, I then relocated front & rear bumper tabs. After this the rolling commenced, front & rear!
After the roll, I test fit my wheels and tackled the rubbing issues as best I could before my alignment today. This involved removing a large section of unnecessary rear bumper plastic.
For the Front's I'm running Kosei K5R's (15x7+36) wrapped in Bridgestone RE71R's (205/50r15) with some Works Extended Lugs
And for the Rear's I'm running a set of Enkei RPF1's (15x7+30) also wrapped in Bridgestone RE71R's (205/50r15) with some Works Extended Lugs
I had my Alignment done today by my good friends over at The Speed Syndicate which leads me to contemplating my choices.
I still have a small rub upfront as these car's have no stock camber adjustment, I could really pull the fenders more but I'd rather run the camber bolts. I heard a small bump type click which sounded like it came from my coil top hat so I'll be pulling those tomorrow to inspect and potentially really tighten! Very happy with how it's driving now compared to stock, and I will be running my local mountains to properly shake it down, after my inspection tomorrow of course.
For the future I'm still leaving the engine alone while I debate what to do... exhaust, intake, hondata, all the fun stuff is still just an idea as I may K swap...
Putting together an order for a couple small goodies;
J's Racing Front Grill Type S
J's Racing Front & Rear Strut Tower Bars
Bride Floor Mat Set
Camber Bolts (undecided who to go with, recommendations appreciated!)
Project Mu HC+ Front Brake Pads
I'll most likely put my order in a couple days so the wrenching fun can continue hopefully next weekend!
