2015 Fit Making this Noise after Cold Start (vid attached)
2015 Fit Making this Noise after Cold Start (vid attached)
In June, our 2015 Honda Fit wouldn't start. We took it to a 3rd party repair shop that gave us a new starter--ours was apparently burnt out.
2 weeks later, the car dies again. We take it back and they keep it for 4 days because the starter is almost burnt out again.
1 month later, it dies again. They determined it's faulty wiring and assured us it should be fine.
Drove to Colorado for a trip (around 2,000 miles roundtrip), came back, all the service lights came on and it would shutter while stopped at a red light. Finally took it to a dealer for them to charge us $2100 to repair the fuel injectors and adjust the valves.
Now, a month later, we get this sound (in video) after cold starting it for more than 24 hours. A 3rd party Honda mechanic listened to it and said that it's the starter, but we took it to a mechanic friend who says the starter's fine.
Any clue as to what's going on??
I guess my overall question would be: is this car cursed? Should I cut my losses and just start looking for another car?

VTC actuator; common issue on the GK5s. Apparently not detrimental to the engine's health and more of an annoying sound than anything else. My 2017 started doing this at ~35K miles.
