I don't know if cleaning the MAP really has much impact, but if the MAF is very dirty, cleaning it can increase mileage as well as driveability.
Thanks! Could you tell us which one is the MAF? And this includes 1st gen? Still haven't found it on any parts schematics for honda parts.

I think your arrow on the bottom is the MAF. If you pull the housing and the air filter, you'll see the probe at the back of the intake.

Apologies for digging up this old thread. I finally solved my Fit's performance problems!

Since my mom rarely drove the car and because the car did not feel like it had been broken in properly, I began to think that the engine, transmission, and fuel system were gummed up. So I focused on three areas, and the car's performance has improved dramatically.

Transmission: In the interval, I have swapped out the ATF, and the car is on its second fill of Amsoil ATF. The transmission runs quietly and shifts smoothly.
Engine: I ran Liqui Moly's engine flush. I cleaned out the throttle and then added Ceratec at the oil change (Amsoil).
Gas. I ran ATS CRF 505. On a 1/4 tank, I added the fluid, went for a long ride, and refilled the tank. My mpgs are now at 27, a figure I have never seen.

The car now has 26k miles.
