Smile Just got to tell ya!

Just came back from a 2400 mile road trip from Philadelphia PA to Sarasota FL in my 08 Sport.. Had the oil/filter changed before I left and checked air in the tires. Just got to tell ya the car performed flawlessly. Didn't use a drop of oil and I got 39 miles per gal. I had thoughts about taking her, with all the constant driving and trucks, but she hung right in there.

Nice! Manual tranny? That's about the mileage I get with my 2010 on the e-way.
Did the wind or truck traffic bother you much? Mine seems to want to move around a lot in heavy winds.

Every summer for the last 4 years we've taken a 4 or 5k trip in our GK. It's been everywhere east of Wyoming, and it's handled it all like a champ. Love this car!

My only issues road tripping came from my kayak acting like a sail everytime a large semi passed me. The only drawback to a small car i have found.

Got back from a ~500km trip this weekend, got around 40mpg but on the downside, the AC wasn't working (and I spend the morning replacing the alternator out on the street) and it's a bit noisy at higher speeds (and mileage goes down the cliff). Ideally I think you'd want a larger, more powerful car for long trips, but it works, I'm pretty happy with it

In the last 3 months, my 2008 Fit has been on 6 trips of more than 1000 kms. It has performed flawlessly, and the gas used seems ridiculously small, since my previous vehicles were an F150, and Tacoma. I've never actually calculated my gas mileage, but yesterdays fill up was at 503 kms, and it only took 31.9 liters, with 99% of it AC on, mostly hwy, some backroads, and a little city. Love this car, and how much room it has to carry stuff. Purchased it used 3 months ago, adding 8,400 kms since buying it, and so glad that my tacoma I purchased new is gone. It constantly broke down, got terrible gas mileage, and I still had a monthly payment to make while it sat in the shop frequently. Paid cash for my Fit, 0 break downs except for the battery, but I easily bump started it, drove to Canadian tire, and changed it myself in their parking lot.
