Does the extra cost for the sport really support the extra cost?

I'm guessing the info in this thread told you all you needed to know - especially since you've already purchased Hondas before. I'm guessing it mostly depends on who's driving it and how cost/comfort they feel. For example, my wife loves keyless entry and I don't really care (but use it since we got a sport).

So any news on what you have or are planning to buy? And has availability impacted your plans as it did mine?

Well sam, it's sounds like everybody is happy, mostly, with the extra dollars they spend on the sport. I'm in the camp of thinking the outside cladding is ugly, but, livable. And, I've not been without cruise for 20 years, and that's the best reason to get the sport.
I'd like to wait in line for a manual, but, knowing that could be months, at least. And, like you, my wife decides, and prefers a automatic.
I've turned down a silver, and blue (wife decides color, and we/she owns 3 black hondas, 2006 pilot,2000 S2000,2006 civichybrid) and the dealership's got a black AT sport.... a december built, delivery in january.....I can stand it anymore........

It's Fit fever. And, it's a great thing to catch.

I have owned both the sport and the base fit..... I was perfectly happy with the base fit however I did not like being with out cruise control.
I would be fine with the base if I still had it.... I wrote down a list of what i wanted and that seemed to help. Yes the sport is nice but you have to decide..... Personly I the spoiler and skirt does not do it for me. Tint the window and you will be cool and functional. Good luck

I chose the sport because mp3 player and the body. The body and rims I wanted, b/c I'm not good with "ricing" cars, so I felt I might as well have it pre-installed. Plus, the 1200$ premium is worth the changes

Cruise control I didn't really care when I got the car. Altho I have been using it, and I'm glad I have it.

Unless you can't get 1200$, I don't see any reason to get the base. If you're poor, I suggest you wait a little longer. The base fit is already expensive and is not a poor mans car to begin with, and I feel its a paradox an expensive loaded car (The base fit) falls short of having certain features.

Automatic trans guys have more reason to get the sport: the paddles!!! That's something the manual guys have no equivalent of and we still pay the same premium.
