Anyone wanna break down the 1200$ premium for me?

Fit Manual $13,850 Fit Automatic $14,650 Fit Sport Manual $15,170 Fit Sport Automatic $15,970
So the premium for sport is about $1320. The Fit Sport adds:

• Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters (5AT only)
• Body-colored underbody kit
• Body-colored rear roofline spoiler
• Fog lights
• 15-inch alloy wheels
• Security system with remote entry
• 200-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary input jack, 5-mode equalizer and six speakers
• Cruise control

So anyone wanna give it a shot how much each item os worth? Also, what I wanna know is if that premium price is a good or bad value for all of these items. I'm not gonna attempt since I am not very knowledgeable. PS title is wrong price # and I can't edit it, and this list is incomplete. They also forgot to mention leather steering wheel.

Well the most expensive part you are looking at is the Cruise Control. Since it is drive by wire there is no throttle cable. This leave really nothing on the outside of the throttle body to attach the cruise control cable too. OEM other items like fog lights, 15" wheels, the added 2 speakers and mp3/ i pod, and high watt radio.... These are all of your big price items

From CollegeHillsHonda's website, these are the retail prices for the parts only...
Fog lights: $329
Security System: $165
Keyless Entry: $149
15-inch Alloy Wheels: $209ea x 4 = $836
Total so far = $1479

This does not include the following:
Body-colored underbody (skirt) kit
Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters (5AT only)
Body-colored roofline spoiler
Upgrade to 200-watt audio system
Cruise Control
Leather-wrapped Steering Wheel

It also does not include installation costs.

So, the sum of the parts is more than the cost of the whole, if you were looking to build a Sport Fit, starting with the Base.

From what I see, considering the extra goodies the Fit Sport has, the $1320 "premium" is a super bargain!

...it's kind of weird that one cannot really breakdown the price of the individual items.

Factory pre-packaged packages are weird that way. I guess the savings comes in bulk packaging and labour of the items they install or bolt on when the chasis goes down the assembly line.

Too bad one could not pick and choose certain items over another if that is what you were eluding too with price breakdown.

Boldy-colored Side Moldings: $139
.
I don't believe these are the sport model rocker panel skirts - my dealer has a little info and he says these are side molding that go on the outter door skin to protecet from door dings-

I think an entire body package with spoiler, side skirts, raer valance and the spoiler would run MUCH more then $139...

Not having cruise control on the base version really makes it a tough decision for me. I use cruise to keep from getting speeding tickets, I have a heavy foot. But I don't want the alloy wheels, extra body stuff, etc.

Avoiding a few speeding tickets by using cruise control might make up for the extra cost. Oh well, I thought I was sure about this car but now I guess I need to keep looking.

I agree... my bad! I've updated to pull the molding - but I think it still makes the point properly.

The sum of the parts is always more than the cost of the whole. If you have to replace every single part of a car with the same parts or even a cheaper after market part, it will cost you more than the car itself. In situations like these, car insurance company exercise a concept they called “Totaled”.

The cruise control alone is worth the added money.... Just purchase the Sports model...
