Well my fit days are numbered, but I still like to beat the ever living piss out of mine and I managed to haul quite a few interesting things. Even managed to squeeze this in the trunk
I just hauled a 11'6 Hobie Revolution kayak and a 10'5" Riot Mako kayak stacked on top of each other in the hatch area with the front passenger seat folded down flat. All the while returning about 40mpg during the trip. Can't beat the Fit in terms of economy and usability.
I do brake jobs on the side and collect the rotors. Once I get enough I take them in for recycling. Not a huge payout, but it doesn't take too much more effort on my end. The last run I made was just shy of 1,200 pounds in rotors and drums, hauled in the 08 Fit affectionately called Blueberry. The suspension felt... interesting, but it got the job done like a champ.
