CDN price increase Jan. 2007

On Monday, I was in an Ontario dealer buying a Fit and was told that beginning Jan. 2007 there will be MSRP price increases on two models. The Sport is going up $100 and the LX increases by $300 ... cruise control will now be a standard feature on the LX.

If the LX starts getting cruise, I'll know quite a few current LX owners are going to be pissed off. When are they expecting the LX models with cruise to start arriving?

That's a bit of a pain in the bum. The Fit is already a lot more expensive than its competitors, Yaris notwithstanding.

With the abyss that is the price difference between the Fit and the Versa, I really wonder if I should have waited a bit longer.

I would agree (understatement) with you about the current LX owners. My salesperson didn't mention when, just that the new prices begin Jan. 1st. I have to admit that I was concentrating more on getting the red Sport AT that they had in stock.

So you mean I wasted a whole spring and summer enjoying my LX Fit and driving 6,550K?
And not once in that time would I have even used the cruise. I never used it on my 85 Olds either.

One of the reasons I didn't even look at the sports model.

From reading the service manual, I have some suspicion that the only thing missing from cruise on the current DX/LX/base is the buttons. I'm not really interested in cruise control so I haven't experimented. It's possible that the controller software is also different -- anyone know whether the gauge clusters have different part numbers between base and sport?

If I drove 6500kms in 7-8 months, I wouldn't care about cruise either. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum, I drive 6600kms in 2 months. For me, no cruise, no care (for my daily driver anyways). I spend at least 30 minutes twice each week day driving at highway speeds without having to slow down. Cruise keeps the cops off my tail.

Many people bought the Sport because it had cruise. I've read multiple posts about people wanting Cruise in the LX. I would have bought the Sport anyway.

The Sport uses a different clock spring in the steering column for the cruise and paddle shifters. I've yet to look at the LX cluster. Odds are it doesn't have the fog light symbol in the dash, flashing LED for the alarm and cruise lights.

If you really want to know, go on http://www.collegehillshondaparts.com/ and cross check the part numbers.
