how to i make my fit faster

hi i bought the auto 5 spd sport about 2 months ago and love evrything but the lack of power. if theres anyone out there that can help me i want to make it faster. i am new to the car tuning world and was lookiing for some advice and knnow how to get more power speed and torque. so please write back with som good info thanks

There is no simple answere here, check the Fit Trix section of this forum for some great ideas. The question you should be asking is it worth it? You could dump a pile of cash at any car and make it quike, but why not buy a sports car?

You may be looking for specifics, but the simplest answer is to search the boards. Go get the information rather than waiting for it to come to you.

you want something faster, buy an eg for dirt cheap and throw a b16 or something in it. The fit is way too expensive to even extract any power out of it and any possible modification (motor swap, super charger, turbo) Will cost you about 26 percent of the cars value which you should've just dumped the money into buying a faster car in the first place.

The only real mods for a fit right now are all cosmetic and even 50 percent of those modifications dont even fit.

rules for an N/A motor have always been Intake (AEM, Injen, T1R), Header (Megan, Mugen), Exhaust (Tanabe, Fujitsubo, T1R, Spoon) for maybe 10whp more (not much but you'll notice the difference on the butt dyno). You can also do a lightweight pulley (T1R) for better throttle response. Other then that, wait a little while and hopefully some company will make an intake manifold or cam.

You can also put lighter wheels on it which will make the car "feel" faster. Stock wheel/tire setup is about 35lbs and you can probably find an aftermarket wheel/tire setup thats about 30lbs.

To be faster-

Add power and loose weight.

On a budget:
To add power-
Add cold air intake
Add cat back exhaust

To loose weight-
Go with lightweight wheels/rims doesn't really matter what size but 15" is probably the best balance of performance with lower weight and lower price but still good selection of styles. 14" also possible if budget is limited.
Get sticky rubber to go with the rims- ultra high performance summer tires if your weather allows or maybe ultra high performance all season tires if you get some light snow.

To round out your performance:
Improve suspension-
Lowering springs or upgrade shocks

To make the most out of your upgrades-
Send the nut behind the wheel to driving school at least once a year.
Practice driving at autocross or at the track- seek an instructor when possible and give yourself time to learn. If it was easy to drive well we would all be like Mario Andretti.
