Disable TPMS

Any Honda technicians in Colorado able and willing to disable TPMS system for a 2011 Fit? I don't have sensors in my tires and want to disable to whole system so traction control is not a problem.

You just remove the fuse. Why do you need a Honda tech for that? lol

That doesn't disable traction control. Need to access the module.

I really wish they would let you disable VSC with your TPMS non functional but unfortunately it doesn't seem possible without some modifications
These systems are in place to keep you safe. Use this information wisely as you can cause yourself a lot of trouble (reprogramming sensors, breaking parts, etc. or worse getting in a crash)

From the research I've done it looks like the traction control will not turn off if there is any problem with the tpms. I haven't tried pulling the tpms fuse (fuse 2 under dash) This will definitely disable TPMS but both lights on the dash will come on. You could see if that allows the vsc to be turned off but my guess is it won't.

If you want your VSC (vehicle stablity control including traction control) to be turned off you could try pulling fuses 38 and 57 (under dash)
However this will disable your abs too.
You could also unplug a wheel speed sensor but this would also deactivate abs (and you'll want to protect those plugs so they don't get cruddy and corrode)
There is also a smaller 7.5 amp fuse but that would disable your electric steering and VSC

It seems as though they really want you to have working tpms

Sometime soon I plan on unplugging the yaw sensor located under/in the center shift console and seeing if that will disable just the traction control/VSC leaving ABS working.
You may also want to try unplugging the steering angle sensor and see if this only disables the VSA

Pretty much all of these things will light up your dash like a Christmas tree (but it is that time of the year)

I planned on doing some experiments so I'll try to report back.

On my 2013 AT BASE with no tire pressure sensors
currently I have tried:
Unplugging VSC off button (this did nothing)
Unplugging the brake switch (I didn't leave my driveway but all this seemed to do is disable my brake lights) (its connected to the can network)

On the other hand, TPMS saved me from having a flat on the freeway. Just pulling onto I-17 & light went on. Got to Discount Tire in 5 min & big nail in tire.

I suppose it depends on which generation Fit is in question, but I'm interested to learn your results. I've got a procedure to disable TCS+VSA, but it's annoying to make after every start.

On my 2013 the easiest way to disable the least amount of systems and VSA was unplugging the Right Front wheel speed sensor located behind the oil cap end of the engine on the fender wall. This disabled VSA and ABS. Pulling the 30A small fuse under dash for ABS/VSA did basically the same thing but turned on more lights. The fuses require a little more hunching and I highly recommend pliers so you don't drop the little bugger.

The best way to disable vsa would probably be to put a switch on the power or ground to the steering angle sensor or yaw sensor. The one I thought would be easiest would be the ground of the yaw sensor. You would have to restart the car to reenable it but it only disables VSA/TCS your ABS will still work regularly,

Here are my findings on my 2013 fit with no tire pressure monitors in its rims (winter rims)

VSA Disable Switch --> Does nothing with TPMS Light On
VSA Disable Switch Unplugged --> Does nothing for my 2013
Removing Under Dash TPMS 7.5A Fuse(2) --> Will probably turn on TPMS light on dash and force VSA. It did nothing for my situation where TPMS light was already on. VSA Disable Switch continued to not function

Pulling Parking Brake On (just enough for brake light to illumintate and full pull) --> VSA and ABS still operate normally
Unplugging Brake Position Switch --> Disabled brake lights. Disabled shift lock solenoid making it impossible to shift into gear without override. Did not test for VSA ABS functionality as this was impractical.

Removing Under Dash ABS/VSA 7.5A Fuse(11) --> Disables VSA,ABS,TCS,EPS. Illuminates VSA,ABS,EPS,BRAKE lights. Causes flashing D light indicating constant TCM fault communicated to PCM.
Reinstalling fuse required a restart of the car to get rid of all dash lights. ABS,BRAKE,EPS reenabled when fuse was reinstalled. (EPS = Electric Power Steering)

Removing Under Dash ABS/VSA 30A Small Fuse(37) --> Disables VSA,ABS,TCS. Illuminates VSA,ABS,BRAKE lights. Cases flashing D light indicating constant TCM fault communicated to PCM.
Reinstalling fuse reenabled ABS and got rid of ABS and BRAKE lights. Left with flashing D and VSA light. Flashing D light disappeared after one key cycle. VSA disappeared after 3 key cycles.

Removing Under Dash ABS/VSA MTR 30A Box Fuse(58) Did not remove but should disable ABS and VSA as the pump will not function

Unplugging ABS Speed Sensor (Right front seemed easiest to get to in the engine bay sticking through the inner fender low behind your oil cap)
---> Disables VSA,ABS,TCS. Illuminates VSA and ABS lights
Plugging the sensor back in does not turn off VSA or ABS lights. One key cycle does.

Unplugging Steering Angle Sensor -- Disabled VSA, TCS turned on VSA Light. Required a key cycle to reset system when plugged back in.

Unplugging Yaw Sensor - Disabled VSA, TCS turned on VSA Light Required a key cycle to reset system when plugged back in.

For those interested I made a video documenting my experiments.

EDIT: For those with a GK5 Third Gen the only way to do just VSA (other than the button) is probably the steering angle sensor as the yaw sensor is part of the VSA unit now
