First Time Fit Buyer

I'm a newbie here, considering buying my first Honda Fit by the end of the month. Normally I would avoid buying a new car, but I'm wondering if there will be end-of-the-year deals on the 2020 model since the Fit is discontinued. I'm considering EX trim. New or used is okay. I prefer manual transmission but it seems only CVT is available. Looking for advice from the experts on the best year and trim level and what price I can expect to pay!

As a start, you may wish to visit Autotrader.com and see what's available in your region. It's a good website, allowing you to see the inventory at all Dealers within a radius you define. You can then use the results to identify candidates of interest, then go from there.

I used this to buy our last car (a VW Golf) and sent e-mails to various Dealers that specifically identified a car on their lot and asked each for their best out-the-door price on it. I avoided all of the usual showroom foolishness and bought the car from a Dealer 100 miles away. You can calmly and quietly analyze the quotes and move ahead when you wish. It worked great.

I'm guessing that there's not a lot of new inventory around since I believe Fit manufacturing was discontinued months ago. You'll have to see what's available and see if it will satisfy you.

Gen 3 Fit Manual Transmission.

This might be a tough find. You may have to go outside your state to find the Fit you want. I own a 2015 EX manual transmission and Love it!!!!!!

It Fits...

Seriously GO FOR IT. I recently purchased a clean used '17 LX with the 6-speed manual. It feels very roomy inside and out accelerates my V-8 Tundra pickup. The mpg is amazing in fact on the first tank I was starting to wonder if the gas gauge was broken! I think the Fit is the best kept secret in the compact scene and would encourage you to search online for a clean one in your area.

And if you want manual, just keep looking, and you'll find one eventually. Don't set a deadline for yourself unless really necessary.
