New Fit owner.

Just wanted to say hi. As of exactly one week ago im a proud owner of a Blue Sport 5MT. So far it’s been very versatile and fun to drive. I’m hoping Honda or someone else will make better iPod integration but the AUX port works for now.

Photos comming soon.

I was working with a local dealer and test drove an AT that was being sold that day. He told me no MT fits until spring of 07. This was in September 06. There are only two Honda dealers in Youngstown so I cast a wider net. One came back saying that he had two Blue Sport MT's coming in. He said one was coming in a week and some guy had a deposit on it but wasn't %100 sure he would buy it as he never had a chance to look at one up close or test drive it. The other was coming in mid November. Driving the AT gave me enough of a feel for the car to know I liked how it rode but defiantly wanted the MT. So I put a deposit down and said id take the first Blue MT Sport that was available. I was guaranteed the one in November but if they first guy backed out on the one in September then it was mine. I got a hold of them mid November and they said there where production delays, it was built but had not arrived at the dealer yet. The new estimate was early December. That is when it arrived and I picked it up.

Long story short I got lucky that a dealer within 100mi of me just happened to have an unclaimed MT Sport in the color I wanted.

There is ipod integration through an upgrade (first party), but i heard it sucks.

LOL, I miswrote that. I knew Honda had a shitty implementation of iPod integration. I meant it as Honda would improve there’s or someone else would make a better one. Right now I’m considering getting the USA SPEC iPod adapter. If Circuit City gets some in ill try it out. Worst case is I take it back.

Just curious, what have you heard? I've been thinking about getting one. My Fit gets here in 4 months and I'm thinking about an Ipod for Xmas.

Thanks...

Ray

Honda Music Link On Hold

There have been several threads on FitFreak and the Edmunds Fit Forum about the problems with the Music Link, and last month a report that it would no longer be available until problems were solved. That was confirmed by my dealer when I took delivery of my Fit yesterday. He says the latest word is that they are working on a new version, but have not given an estimate of when it will be ready.

A note of caution here: Music Link may have been withdrawn because it does not work AT ALL with the latest iPod software, not because of all the complaints about functionality. It's possible that when it "fix" is introduced, it will still have all the functionality limitations of the earlier version - but you'll be able to experience them with the latest iPod and software!
