Burnt Smell??

I purchased an 07 Fit Sport w/ AT yesterday. After test driving the car, I thought I smelled what smelled like burnt clutch. I didn't think anything of it because the smell was so faint.

Anyways, after going out last night, when I returned home, I noticed the same smell. I popped the hood, and I noticed it more. I don't know if it's more like a burnt clutch or burnt rubber type smell.

Is this common with new cars? It's my first brand new car, and it has 89 miles.
And I didn't rev it hard either btw...

Thanks... I just now checked the reply on H-T. I just found this board, and meant to only post my question here, but I couldn't register for the website from work.

Thanks again!

yea, it sucks working at a dealer in the winter with the doors closed on a slow day. everybody is doing new car checks and the whole shop smells like burnt metal.

i think it could also be the stuff some dealers spray in the engine bay to make things look glossy and clean. when that burns off the smell should start to go away too

I bought a 2012 fit sport, now has 5000 miles, and when ever i go up a long hill, i get a either burnt clutch , or burnt oil smell every time. Honda does not find anything wrong either. Anyone have any suggestions to the cause ? Thanks ahead of time
