So I changed my calipers rotors and pads. The calipers came with clips as well as the pads. I used the clips from the caliper. I put a little grease on the pads. A few days later I noticed a scratch on the new rotors. The shim came loose and fell onto the rotor. Not sure if the grease seeped in and separated or because I did not use the clips that came with the pads. Did not think anything of it but they were easier to install. Also th pads only had two folds on the top and only one on the bottom. Normally there are three on top and two on the bottom. Cheap pads or Were those clips specific for the pads. If they fall off again I will just remove the shims. Thanks

 

bummer. How was the shim attached? grease could definitely attack an adhesive.
