Worth it to buy a Honda Fit with 153k Miles?
Worth it to buy a Honda Fit with 153k Miles?
Going to look at a Fit with 153,000 miles on it. I believe this guy is the second owner, but I'll get the rest of the details in person. Looks like he took good care of it, replaced all 4 rims and a new head unit.
This is my first car, I only need it to go to the train station and maybe the occasional trip to the mall or up the east coast to a different state. The listed price was for $4600, but it is negotiable.
I really like hatchbacks and I was about to purchase a Corolla Hatchback until the insurance qoutes were insane (I'm 22, sort of new driver, so).
Thoughts??

If the maintenance history checks out, I wouldn't hesitate. Mileage is just a number and my Fit is one of a few cars I've bought with high miles.
In my case I bought a 2007 Fit with 213k miles, carfax was extremely clean and routine maintenance was performed throughout its history, I am the 5th owner. I put 3k miles on it in the past month it's been registered without so much as a hiccup and currently it's at 216k. I live in CT and I've made multiple trips to NYC, Upstate NY and NJ. My wife and I use this as our long distance trip to give her CRV a break and even do Grubhub in it in my spare time all while being my everyday commuter to work.
Hope this helps.

All depends on how it was driven and cared for. My 2010 has about the same miles, but 90% freeway (easy miles). Also, I give it everything it needs. I fully expect it to be good for at least another 50K, maybe more.
That's exactly the mileage I have on my '07 Fit and I feel like it can go another 100k, but that's assuming all the services were done (valve adjustment, spark plugs, ignition coils, etc.). Definitely need to carefully examine the maintenance records.
EDIT: Just realized this thread is almost a year old lol. I hope you're happy with whichever you chose!
