Metalic rattle A/C

2019 FIT, Automatic, 105,000 miles. When the car is idling with the AC on. Every time the fan engages there is a rattle. It seems like a metallic rattle. If I turn off the AC, the rattle goes away. AC is cold. Never hear it while underway. Stop at a lite, and It reappears. There are two fans that I can see. Is it possible one or both of the fans are going bad. Maybe a bearing? I'm not really a car guy so I appreciate any guidance. Thank you

it is the bearing in your ac clutch.

Thanks very much for the reply. Is that a part that can be replaced or do I need to replace the entire A/C compressor? thank you

Unfortunately, I don’t think Honda sells that bearing as one unit. It can totally be replaced, you don’t even need to remove the compressor. You do however need to get some kind of puller to remove the compressor clutch pulley. To do this, you must remove the serpentine belt which is a little tricky on the GD3. I ave some tips to make it easy though if you have a GD3 (first Gen).

they sell ac clutch kits but it would be a shame to scrap the whole clutch just for a bearing.
