Hello to all from an old timer...
K_C here,
Some of you old timers will probably remember me. I had a 2010 Fit Sport - 5 speed. Bought it new and was able to put 190,000 miles on it. Only problem I had was running out of cold air on a trip to Maine. I'm not sure but Honda just decided to save a little I guess. Here I was a few hundred miles and a state away from my dealer... I learned the cool value of Honda America ; -)
That Fit had the original rear brakes and the front rotors were only replaced because they de-laminated from sitting idle during the covid shut down. Then I thought I blew the clutch but actually it was a broken front axle that Honda made wrong... repairs were on them.
37MPG and life was good but I began seeing the risk... so I went to my dealer (Rensselaer Honda) and walked away with a 2024 HRV. Nice trade - great deal - love Honda.
I've learned that the 2024 HRV has a dedicated frame, preceding years use a shared frame. It is a beautiful ride - AWD and 31+ MPG but I do miss my FIT.
Not sure if I can find an HRV forum like this one but happy to see everyone keeping the spirit alive.!!

you are not the only one to make a change based on the axles and general aging. i was worried about recurring brake sponginess despite recent service, and crashworthiness for the wife and kid. sold it and bought a new Civic Hatch, blue, sport.
i didn't like the HRV, seats very hard. but the Civic is too large on the outside and it's very loud to drive. i believe they are made on the same platform, but the CRV is considered the SUV version of the Civic. I hope we will get great service from it, but it is not as unique as the Fit.
