I have a 5AT because I sold my STi, then my SE-R motor blew. I needed a car within a week and I got lucky because one of the dealers called me and had just received a Fit Sport. I wanted a 5MT, but it didn't work out that way.

Nearly 2k miles later...I'm quite happy with my 5AT. It's the best auto tranny car I've driven yet. Resale value should be good too if I go that route later. However I can see myself keeping this as a daily driver for years to come. My SE-R is a 5MT so that will be my fun car until my '69 Camaro SS is done. My Fit isn't a race car...it's reliable and safe daily transportation.

"dont worry be happy!!!"

lets just keep this poll going

I wasn't pointing anyone out specifically ...

ETA: And I definitely wasn't bashing you, or anyone.

Hey what year SE-R did you have? I had a 2004 Spec V before I got the fit. Did you pre-cat destroy it?

new to auto

Drove manual for 15 years, including my '69 Honda roadster and ex-hubby's ERA Cobra.

But now gotta admit, I like drinking coffee and not having to shift.

I bought a Sport AT. I've been driving manual for the last 6-7 years and I'll be missing it once I start driving my Fit. My only reason for driving auto is simply because I do a lot of physical labour with a minimum of 10 hours a day. By the end of the day, my legs are sore and feels like jell-o, especially my left leg (I recently found out that I put more weight on it than my right leg). Because of the fatigue I find that my clutch work is consistently out of sync with my Accord (on top of which I'm wearing heavy duty steel toe snow boots). So, I'm jerking way too much for my liking. This is something I don't want the engine and tranny to experience.

Got an 5sp auto, lol

however I think most enthusiasts you'll find on the web will have a 5sp manual transmission.

my reasoning for the auto, car is a commuter, wife doesn't drive manual, but most of all the gas consumption figures between the two is so negligible.

auto for me.

well, i'm a gas conscious young chick who knows squat about cars i'm just on this forum cause i love the fit.

and i just sold my manual '88 CRX, which my buddy did all sorts of mods to, so it was next to impossible for me to drive. it was my first car, but i learned stick from it.

i'm just too lazy for a manual

the manual fits are suppose to be rare but it seems like most of the people here owns a manual, i was too anxious to buy a fit, didnt wanted to wait and got an auto, wish it was a manual but i still love my fit

just experiance, traditionally in a low torque motor a manual will do a little (sometimes a lot) better with performance and real world MPG.

Very tough decision as my wife hates stick (no pun intended LOL) and we do have to swap cars once in awhile.
