looking at getting a 2015 red exl here in NY , carfax shows all service done at route 23 honda in NJ , bought at paul miller honda , but it shows some services for electric issues and i called the dealerships for more info but they wont give me any unless the original owner gives them permission

That’s pretty normal with dealer records—they’re very strict about privacy, so without the original owner’s permission they won’t release details beyond what’s on Carfax. The “electrical issues” note is something I’d pay attention to, but it could range from minor things like a battery, sensors, or infotainment glitches to something more involved. Since you can’t get the full story from the dealer, I’d lean heavily on a pre-purchase inspection by a good independent mechanic, ideally one familiar with Hondas. They can scan for stored codes, check wiring health, and see if anything looks like a recurring issue. If everything checks out in person, the service history alone isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker. I thought the 2015 was generally known as being an unreliable year? I believe they moved production to Mexico from Japan that year with the 3rd gen. Why not just avoid it and get one of the more reliable years instead of taking a chance?
