Noise from front end under hard acceleration in first gear

So it's been cold the past couple of days and this morning on my drive to work I was getting a noise from the front end when I acclerated hard only in first gear. It almost sounded like something was slipping or like a tire rubbing on something. I checked and there was no ice or snow near the tires so I don't think that's it. I haven't been able to get it out for a good drive to melt anything that may be stuck up in the suspension or anything. But I took the long way home from work and got the Fit up to operating temp and still hear the noise although it seems to be diminishing. This AM it was easy to reproduce, tonight kind of hard but I could get it to happen.

This has never happened to before and I only have 11,000 miles on the Fit. Does anyone have any clue to what this could be? BTW this is on the MT fit.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
->Ben

I have the same issue

I have experienced the same things just these past few days. It almost sounds like something is binding. I don't feel anything in the steering when it happens.

I also have 114xx miles on my Fit.

I have to schedule an oil change here real soon. I think I am going to mention it to them. Also, when I down shift from 5th to 4th I get a small grind. I don't know if this is all due to the frigid temps or what.

This sounds like the exact problem I am having. It only happens when the temp falls below 25 or so... Were you able to find out what was wrong?

Our '09 MT was making all kind of noises again. Everything was packed with snow and ice. I took it to the car wash and hosed it all out two weeks ago. Things went back to normal until the next round of snow and extremely cold temps (–23°F). Today it warmed above freezing and a lot of the crud fell out and the car feels much more normal. I heard noises I had never heard before in the five years we have owned the car. Good luck. Hope it's nothing.

Cheers.
