Pre-delivery requests?

Ok I'll be getting my new fit sometime this summer. I noticed that people had problems with the dealership washing the new Fit prior to delivery. I have already requested with the salesman that there be no dealership decal put on the car. Is there anything else that I should ask the dealer to do or not to do? I'm just not sure what to expect. Will they gas it up with cheap gas, mess the interior up by removing the plastic, etc...? Anything the dealer did to your Fit before you picked it up that pissed you off? Please let me know.

Oh yes, for sure! I never though of that. Even though we in Indiana don't have a front plate, they still might do it to display their dealership emblem. Thank you!

Any more?

only thing I told them was no front plate bracket (even though I live in nj and I need it) I knew they would drill right into the bumper and I wasn't about to have that.

I was wondering around a dealership one day and found a fit with pinstripe which added like $128, i know the fit has been out there for a while, but you never know what they might try to do

Don't worry too much. There's a little thing now a days called CSI (customer service index). Each saleperson is graded on it based on actual customer input. If a sales dept screws up, Honda finds out from this. Honestly, if the salesperson does a great job, let Honda know. If you didn't like something, or at the time of delivery something was amiss, talk to the salesperson, or their manager about it. There's a lot of items that ride on CSI (dealership recognition, $$$, saleperson recognition within Honda), and dealerships want to help it stay high however they can.

Good luck guys.

I'm in the same boat, I'm in jersey and I want nothing to do with a front tag. Dealer is giving me flack about it and saying they have to put one on....

They did say they use some tag bracket that doesn't require any holes to be drilled and mounts in the opening in the bumper. When I get my VIN I will go down and make sure they know I will walk from the deal if my car is delivered with any more holes in the bumper then honda intended

Make sure you ask them to disclose any shipping damage that the car may incur in transit. Also let them know if you do not want the car to be undercoated.

The bracket I had on my Fit didn't require them to drill a hole in the front of the bumper.

the honda front plate bracket doesn't require a hole in the bumper fascia, but the overzealous 17 year old lot boy with a drill in hand sees the hole front and center on the bracket and the lightbulb in his mind tells him to reach for his self-tapping screws.

jesse - what dealer in nj? I got mine in nj and they had no problem. My salesman made sure to tell every person who might touch my car and to leave notes not to put a front bracket on.

I'm actually going to end up putting the bracket on, just to not have to deal with stupid tickets, but I am having a clearbra put on and I want that to go on first and certainly on a bumper without a big ugly hole in the middle of it.

There are few words to describe how pissed off I was when the my dealership did that. I test drove the car and there was no front license plate holder (we don't need a front plate in PA) and after they took it back to "wash it up" they drilled 2 nice holes in the front bumper and put the advertisement plate on.

I went to honda of turnersville for mine....well when the damn thing comes over I will that is. I don't have my VIN yet but I don't know if I would get that when the car leaves the factory or when it arrives in the country. I would assume I don't get it until its in our country....But damn I want my car!

Then again I had to wait I think 8 weeks for my g35 so this one is only a 3-4 week wait.

Storm I would've walked from the deal at that point or demanded a new bumper. that is so beat.

The car wash by hand has screwed up my paint job I don't think they can fix. So be 100% sure that you pick it up on a sunny day and don't sign a thing until you truly feel you are not to be screwed!!!!!

I requested that there be no stickers put on the car, and no dealer plate cover put on. When I went to pick up the car, I had to ask them to remove the dealer plate cover that was put on, before I would accept it. I should have told them not to drill the holes into the rear bumper for the plate, and leave the front plate bracket without drill holes. Now I have threading in the bumper and bracket for the kind of screws they used, and I'm having a hard time finding replacement screws (one of them fell off already). I think I'm going to drill wider holes without threading, and order those special screws that need a small locking key (if I can find them again). I would have rather put the plates in the windows temporarily, then drill my own holes and use my own screws to attach them later. If we're paying this much for a car, we should get what we are paying for: a car delivered exactly as ordered.
