Weak Air Conditioning...
My a/c works fine; Where i live is damn hot! Is always 100 or 90; and that's normal in here. One thing for sure i have to wait 'till tha air ciculate in all the carr; because the a/c eventhough i have it in 4 i don't feel the cold wind blow in my face like ussually you feel in other cars whe u put the a/c on hi. But i dun complain
A/C & Tinting
My A/C works perfectly fine, but then again, I also had my window's tinted a few days after I got my car, and it really does help. 'Bama has cruel Summers.....very hot and sticky! As far as tinting price, mine was around $220.
I don't think the AC's that weak. I haven't sat in the back of the car with it on full blast, though, and I don't have many back-seat passengers, so I don't know how cool it gets back there.
I'm always freezing after a few minutes of it on full blast, but I get cold easily, so that could be a contributing factor.
Keeping the window cracked helps - I keep it open in the parking lot at work to let the inside vent the hot air.
I can't afford tinting
I want to get it done eventually, though. One day, lol.

My A/C works fine. It blows hard and very cold. When I first test drove a Fit it was on a hot muggy day and part of the test drive was uphill accelerating A/C blowing hard. If it wasn't cold or couldn't speed up going uphill with the A/C on I would have kept shopping.
The Fit I ended up with the A/C works just as good as the one I test drove.
It's so cold I usually put it on 4 fresh or recirculate with A/C for a few minutes then turn set it to 3 and turn the A/C off for a few because it starts getting too cold.
Take it in and have them check it if yours isn't cooling like it should. I sure would.
Window tint always helps. Make sure you have the fan set right, the chest and foot setting or just the chest setting. I always use the chest and foot one it just seems to work better at cooling the whole car to me.
Window deflectors help to let the hot air out while parked and while driving while not letting the hot outside air blow in.
In humid conditions set it 1 or 2 clicks from max cold position. It's helps the condenser to keep from freezing up with ice from the humidity (which will make it stop cooling the air) by cycling it off more often giving it a chance to thaw.
I remember years ago riding thru the desert and the A/C would stop cooling. We would stop and open the hood only to find the A/C condenser frozen solid in a block of ice. Once it thawed the A/C would work fine again. If we set the A/C a little short of max cold it wouldn't freeze up and would keep working.
Food for thought and maybe it will help.

IVe noticed that the computer seems to turn off the Compressor if you are realy doing anything more than cruzing. It doesnt like to have the compressor on and be on the throttle. That might be some of your guys deals. Drive around sometime without getting on it at all hardly and see if it gets colder.
I tried putting the A/C on 4 like many on the board suggested. It did help. I was only running mine at 2 or 3 - which when the car is hot is not enough. It cooled down in no time and I got cold and had to switch it back to 2 - so thanks for those who suggested the 4 setting. All that glass is cool but not when it is hot! LOL!

I have driven the fit around with a thermometer in the vent, the coldest it gets is 45F, but not often. Usually its 50F is the norm, no matter how hot it is outside. But it takes a little while when temps are above 100F to hit 50F.
My toyotas hit 40F in no time!

Tinting
I paid $225 in central CA. 18% tint in rear, 45% tint in front.
AC not as good as previous cars. I use recycle only and set it for the center vents. Setting it for the foot vents seems to senfd too much of it under the seats.

Window Tint
I paid $235 last week when I was in Panama City, Florida. Got the darkest tint legal in Florida, which is 35% front, 15% for the rest. I live in Alabama, so it is not quite legal here but close to it.
The $235 included a 6" visor strip of 15% tint across the top of the windshield. They did all the windows including those funky little ones in front. Did a BEAUTIFUL job, too. Much better than my last 2 cars. If anyone is in that area and wants tint, PM me and I'll tell you where to go.
Edit: By the way, with the dark tint, the air conditioner is a LOT more effective. That little A/C is overmatched by the huge amount of glass in the Fit.

Hmm
I've noticed in my MT while I'm on the interstate that the A/C will be blowing REALLY cold, then it suddenly blows a lot less forcefully for a few seconds, then goes back to full blast. The air that comes out is still very cold, just doesn't make it to my face. My A/C never got ME cold enough on my way to work yesterday to make me turn it down, and I drove about 25 minutes. It was on 4 the entire time.
Believe me, I'm not *really* complaining, because my past 2 vehicles the A/C has gone out on them shortly after I bought them, and I live in hot, humid Kentucky! So, I am just thankful I HAVE an A/C! lol
It also makes a weird noise at times coming out of the vents inside the cabin.

I noticed the AC when I test drove the car on a warm day. One does not want the noise of full (4) fan when driving all the time. Still considering the engine size, it's no dobut related. I most likely will check out the tinting. Thanks for all the information.
Window Tint
Going on Thursday to ProTint here in Louisville to get 20% all around and a 5% strip on the windshield. The price they quoted me was $169. I am not sure if that was with the strip or without.
In Kentucky, it is illegal to have anything darker than 35% on the front windows, but... screw that! lol
My husband has 5% all the way around and he's never been ticketed for that, so I'm going for it. I prefer the more uniform look of one color tint all around :P And, besides, 35% looks like not having tint at all, and that is where I'm going to be sitting! I want more protection than that.
I've driven the '97 Cavalier long enough with no tint and the windows down (so my left arm always has a farmer's tan). If I'm going to tint it, it is going to be the right way

Just one more opinion since I haven't heard this stated yet. As a reference I live in Phoenix and my windows are tinted, 35% front and 20% rear.
When I first get in the car I turn the AC to 2 or 3 (almost never to 4) and set the vents to outside air. Then when the car has cooled down some I change it to recirculate. It probably helps that it's not humid at all here now, so I'll let you know if that still works in August....
Since the car is sitting in the sun the air inside the car is likely hotter than the outside air, so circulating some outside air in first to cool down a little bit then recirculating to cool it even more seems to work well here.
