What are your conditions? Windows rolled up, sitting in the sun all day, no sunshade.... My 911 won't cool down even if it was parked with the roof cracked and a sunshade for 15 minutes but will cool to a comfortable level if it was under a car cover even on a 100 degree day. Porsches are not known to have great AC but I added a pro-cooler. modified the vents updated the compressor and switched to HC12. The air blows cold but if the car sunk too much heat it takes forever to cool down. My Fit AC does not blow into the low 40s but I would think it is in the 50 degree range. What is your vent temperature? Maybe it is a circulation problem. You don't want any outside air coming in.

I just spent the weekend in Las Vegas (7/7/07). It was 100 °F AT MIDNIGHT! It was so freaking hot there. But the A/C worked pretty well. I have tinted windows in the back and I always use a sunshade. It probably also helps that the car is white. In the end I was satisfied with the A/C.

Our drive home had excellent cooling. I even had to adjust the temperature because the wife was getting cold.

One thing that might effect the AC on the Fit is the Condensor fan. On some cars like the Benz there is a large electric fan in front of the radiator which aids in cooling it especially while the car is stationary. If the radiator fan is what is cooling it then it may not be enough without the car moving. I am out of town at the moment but you could see if the vent temperature drops much when you drive at something like 40 or above it may be that the fan does not pull enough air. Maybe there is room to add another fan.

Yup, when every cubic inch of a vehicle is preheated, it takes forever...

I've had my White Sport for almost two (2) months and the AC works great. I did have the windows tinted the first week I had the car but the air has always been cold. As a matter of fact, even when it is above 90 degrees, it will get too cold in the car if I leave it on 4 for very long.

In Las Vegas. A/C does not cut it here in the daytime. On non-recirc, air is warm. On recirc, just barely cool. Better than no A/C though, that's not a question, but it merely stops one from melting. It works just dandy back in California, but the heat is too much here.

I don't know. If you guys are having problems with poor A/C, then go back to the dealer and complain real loud, or find a good independent shop. Mine's freezing. My black Fit sits all day long in the hot sun, and my A/C has no problem at all.

Best of luck solving this problem.

Hi, I am new to the sight. I have a 2005 Jazz. At first I thought the A/C was a bit rubbish but then I sat in the back and reallised that it was getting the car cooler. Try aiming the vents onto yourself for a few minutes then to the rest of the car. PS I Live in Portugal and it gets pretty hot in these summer months

Hope this Helps

I'm scheduled to take mine in for regular service and A/C check Monday. I intend to find out what the acceptable specifications are for vent temperature.

I had an '87 Accord with R12 that blew 38* air in the hottest temps- would freeze you out. (Stick a little cooking thermometer down through the vent) You had to mix with some hot in the middle of summer. '95 Civic with R134a- not as cold by A LOT, blew 41-42* vent temperature. While those 3-4* don't seem like they'd matter, they matter a lot. When the Civic developed a leak, and it started blowing 46-47*, it felt better with the windows down. Granted, the 46-47* was a struggling to keep up, humid temp.

The 2007 Fit, 20 years after the Accord, blows between 48* and 52* in the sunshine when it's hot, and down to 44-45* when it's nighttime. If I keep the fan up to 3 or 4, even in the daytime, it's fair enough, but it takes a long time to GET comfortable. Can't get in, turn on, be good. BTW, it's got 35% tint all around, and never goes without a sunshade in the front.

I'm amazed that 20 years after the little accord, this is "progress". OK, I'll accept the R12 arguement. Why then 12 years after the 95 Civic it's warmer?

My guess is that the A/C systems are of different strengths. I think in that industry they refer to that as the "ton" rating. I think my house has a 3 1/2 ton system.

My goal Monday is to find out what the rating is of the Fit A/C in some form (ton/etc), and what is the acceptable vent temp once stable while sitting in the sun in heat.

I'll try to let you know. Anybody else measured vent temp when it's warm?
