Silly noob question

Ok, I don't know if this is normal...but I find it irritating.

My "parking light" warning light (green) on the dash is on, even in full headlight mode and moving down the street. Having that damn light staring me in the face all night on the road is quite annoying, do all fits to this? I mean come on, thats fine if I was parked with the lights on and no key...but running down the road with the headlights on? WTF?

PS - Thanks for letting me vent, and chime in if your Fit does this and you hate it.

Yup, the Fit does this. If you put the indicators on, then the green indicator light will come on regardless of whether or not you are driving or parked. Also, if you have foggies, if you turn those on, the green light for those stay on as long as they are turned on.

The fogs I am ok with, but the parking lights, WTH were they thinking? I can see warning you if the key was off and lights on, or key on, parking brake on that sort of thing, but ALL THE DAMN TIME? ARGRGRGRGRGRG!

Time to pick up the Honda shop manual and cut that damn wire (or better yet, only let it come on with the parking brake is on...easily done if I had a wiring diagram).

I am sorry, but I am not some retard that needs to be told my lights are on when I am driving...expect a write up on how to disable this once my service manual arrives.

only Honda does stupid things with indash indicators.... I've been in hundreds of cars at my job and only Honda have this stupid idea to put an indicator there to let you know your light is on... or your DRL is on and stupid shit like that.... and the DRL indicator on older cars often breaks and cause problems.

all those indicators on them new cars to tell you your light is on, is broken or your key is in ignition(yeah thanks, i know my key is there cuz i INSERTED IT THERE, now stop beeping) and only ONE check engine light to tell you there is a problem with your engine put of possible hundreds of problems big and small....

I sort of like the green 'lights on' reminder. I've been accustomed to cars that did not illuminate the dash lights, except when the head lights were on, so - seeing the dash lights on - I sometimes forgot to turn on the head lights soon enough in the evening.

LOLs, yeah it really just irked me after a bad day at work. I will be disabling it. I mean, I don't mind if its on when I have the switch in parking light mode, but why would it stay on when I have the full headlights on? Makes 0 sense.
