Oil Changes

Im buying a 2008 Fit in march and was just wondering how many km's Fits go between oil changes. Whats the recommended kms? I just read about the maintenance minder system and thought that was pretty cool...but couldnt find the actual kms.

Someone at the dealership thinks my 1st change will be around 5,000 miles....the read-out starts at 100% & gradually goes down. I'm down to around 90% after about 700 miles ? I guess it depends how you drive too.

It calculates the usefull oil life by taking your speed and idle time and miles driven and other things. It does not acutally TEST the oil ,,just a really good guess. Prolly average around 6000 miles.

My maintenance minder reaches 15% about 6500 miles (approx. 10500 km).

I knew it. That sucks. I was hoping it actually did. Knowing that, the oil life indicator is worthless unless you can't add and subtract.

Do us all a favor and go to the DIY section and you will find a GIANT STICKY on changing your oil and one on WHEN to change it.
